Purchasable single Cosmetic sets should count as Outfits.

  • So here me out, If and when I want to wear the full set to an outfit that is purchasable in the gold shop, I have to put on every single individual item from the vanity and clothing chest. So im thinking why not just make it so they also count as Costumes? And if i you dont have every single item from that set it would still fill all the items that you did have with that set into the outfit.

If rare does not want to ruin the feel of the costume section they could just make another called Outfits and they could be marked as such like the "admiral outfit set" or Ocean Crawler Outfit Set". Also when selecting the sets you should have a menu that pops up showing which parts of the set you actually want to put on your character and have a menu for "apply all". This would help so much with character customization because the cosmetic selection is at a point where it takes minuets to put on a new outfit, and it is even worse for controller players if they ever want to change how they look.

Rare should also add a search bar for these cosmetics also. This needs to come along with Custom Outfit saves that could come along with this update. If this update were to come me and a-lot of people i know would be stoked for this but as always this is a suggestion.

  • How would you Mix and Match your wardrobe?

One of my absolute favorite things and ANYONE that has sailed with me can confirm this; is to use the Random option on the clothing chest and wear it out for a voyage.

  • @personalc0ffee I mean, to be fair, having this option wouldn't mean removing the options presently available. In particular with their idea of an "Outfits" tab that would let you select a Set and it would just Equip the bits you personally had from that set.

That would give folks who want that a slightly faster way to get the full set on that they want, and you could still leave the option for Random and for picking bits yourself manually. Everyone wins in that sense.

So while I would never use this feature myself, since I like to mix and match, I am all for the idea so that others can enjoy it.

Edit: This might even open the door for having a couple custom Outfit slots where you could save a combination you made as a Custom Outfit (potentially with a limit on the number of Custom Outfits you can have). And have those be in there as options too (along with a Save Current Outfit option). That is another long requested feature and they pair together nicely.

  • But what about dresses? They override shirts and jackets, but if you're not inclined to wear them, you'll still have to take the time to remove them.

The same problem exists with the random option under "all" for both your clothing and vanity chests - it will always put on a dress because it puts on 1 item from every slot possible.

I suspect this is why Rare hasn't already instituted something similar to your suggestion - it actually limits or restricts variety in favor of ease of use, and that may not be what they want.

  • @galactic-geek this could be sorted with a prompt on selection. "Would you like to: A) Dress, Y) No Dress, B) Cancel" (button options based on Xbox) since that is the one cosmetic type where that is a factor. This could then be applied to Random as well. Problem mostly solved.
