How is it possible that a level 5 reaper crew appears and disappears from the map whenever they want?
No reapers in the lobby. Then a level 5 appears, nothing strange, they must have just jumped in. But then, after a while the disappear from the map. After like 10 minutes the appear again in the same spot, still level 5. Then they disappear again. I go to an outpost and check the table, I see a reaper, I go to the map: no reapers. Doublecheck the table: reapers are still there. And when they appear again they are still level 5 so they are not raising up and down the flag. How can it be?

Disappearing and appearing again could be server hopping via portals and ending up on the same server again.Also, they could be different crews.
@lem0n-curry same crew and same ship. They “casually” appeared from nothing close to me just when I hit reaper level 5. I chatted with them but after few excuses they deleted their messages from the chat
@pithyrumble if this was the case then tell me why I couldn’t see any reaper on the map but on the table there was actually a reaper ship?

It is possible because ships maintain their emissary flag and the current grade they are at when they hop through portals... They could have been from another server and joined you at Grade 5.

Because the merge in from other servers with their Grade V already intact.

Yes, you should be able to see the Reaper and their Rank on the map after they fully load in. If for some reason you're only seeing Reaper boats on the table and they are nowhere on the map, it could be possible you've a bug to report.
I haven't specifically noticed this but I wasn't looking for it.
@MusicMee Damien, what say you? You play more than I do, have you noticed this with merging boats?

If you are seeing no Reaper ships on the table and some on the map when you are on the outposts then that IS a bug, and should be reported here.
If however, you are checking the tables and then setting off and later spotting a high level emissary... this could be because they have portal hopped into your server. You won't get a warning, they will just silently merge into you.
When you exit or join a server through the portals, you get placed in a holding area far below the map - this is the slow moving tunnel zone that you can see at both ends. It's possible that when you get moved to a server from a portal, you're "in the server" and will appear on the emissary table if you have a flag raised, but since you're not actually on the map yet (only in the intermediate tunnel) you won't appear on other ship map tables until you transition into the world.
That is one possible explanation - the other is that the map gets bugged when ships transition in/out of servers using the portals.
