Reaper's Flames faction

  • The faction would be the opposite of Athena's Fortune. You could become its member by reaching level 60 at the faction of Reapers Bones. The main entrance would be located under the Reaper's Hideout but players would be able to enter it by using a chanty next to the Reaper's Table. A portal would open which would lead to the hideout. Two new types of voyages would be available: The Reapers Bounty Hunt and Reapers Heist. In the first voyage, pirates would receive a magic compass that would lead to one random player ship on the server. Upon sinking it the pirates will receive a new item - a capstan chip, which they could turn over to the Servant of Flame. The Reapers Heist would give the players a Reapers Mask. While holding the right mouse button players would be able to see the direction of voyage ships. Upon arriving there pirates would have to sink the 4 NPC brigs guarding a galleon filled with loot which would be following a certain route around the map. One of the brigs would have a key from the galleon's captain quarters (same as in the sunken ships). Upon sinking the brigs and the galleon the galleon would turn into a shipwreck. Pirates could open quarters with the key and retrieve the loot. On level 5 of the faction reputation, players would receive a customizable reapers mask that would go in the beard slot. Players could purchase various colors, eye, and mouth types, materials, etc. On level 10 of the reputation, pirates would receive a Reapers flame Curse - a red recolor of Legendary curse with a chalice on the chest instead of the mark. What do you think on this one?

I like the adventure, I like that mask mechanic, I like the reward.

I'm guessing those brigs and the gally are NPCs right? Otherwise I don't see this ticking, if it has to be players.

Overall, not too bad kind ser. Please have my upvote.

This is randomly selecting a player to target that did not opt into that level of risk.

The risks people take are optional and this is imposing mandatory increased risk (in theory) on people

This is also pushing pvp as opposed to just offering the opportunity for it during a risk/reward scenario. It's interference in the environment.

What if all ships were npcs?

Npc stuff works because it's not interference and because it maintains consistency with activity

one of the biggest issues with most of this stuff is keeping it active on servers so npc helps with that

It could be NPCs that spawn on demand, just like that Flameheart voyage, that spawns a couple ghost ships around some island on the map.

  • If it's going to be a player victim, they should get an onscreen notice that a Reaper is hunting them. Any loot they currently have can be portal hopped, and the Reaper cannot portal hop their flag or any supplies for the rest of the session.

Since it's "highly skilled" reapers and all 🙄🤣

  • At this point just swapped arena with a mode that's the opposite of alliance server.

Everyone's marked on map no matter emissary or not
    Always double xp/gold

If you run a emissary everyone can see the faction And no alliances.

  • @greengrimz Yes, those would be NPC. The mechanic of their destuction would be the same as skelly ships.

  • @pithyrumble the crow flies to the ship and sits down next to the wheel - the reaper is hunting for you

  • @ajm123 That is a neet idea but I think double is a little much, but it fits into high risk high reward well

    NEET IDEA!
Lol, like Joe Neet, nice pun even if it wasn’t intentional

Maybe even have all of the Reaper's masts brought down and become unrepairable the moment the player victim is marked. Reapers could be given paddles so they can row their ship instead. The steering wheel should be completely unusable, they can just turn through paddling (rowboat mechanic). Additionally half the cannons ON EACH SIDE must be completely disabled. You chose to be a sloop Reaper? Tough luck pal - keep watch for that cannon rowboat out there...

Or better yet, just have Reapers sink and spawn on a new server the moment a player victim is marked. Their feet should be broken, but because they had the impudence to mark a player victim, this time they are broken for 30 minutes instead of 30 seconds. You dared to mark a player victim more than one time in the last 24 hours?! OH MY, so naughty!! Now your feet are broken and you are completely drunk for 30 minutes!

You know, "since it's 'highly skilled' reapers and all"

  • I love the idea of the Reapers bones compass. If anything, that could be the mainstream voyage for the Reaper's Bones!

  • @greengrimz

Not all that lol. I want them to see me portal hop away with my Lvl 5 Athena
