Hello! I have been having so many issues when it comes to the spawn rates of Ocean Crawlers and Phantoms over the last couple of weeks and it has been getting very annoying. I am not sure if anyone else has contacted you about this, but because of the quick spawn rate, you cannot get anything done! Anytime I try to do a Gold Hoarder quest or Athena quests, they just spawn right where we need to be and we cannot complete what we intended to do for our gameplay session. If it is at all possible, can you please lower the spawn rate of Ocean Crawlers and Phantoms in general? Thank you for your consideration!
Ocean Crawlers and Phantoms
They were neat for about the first 2 weeks of their existence...
Now they're just annoying. The spawn frequency is ridiculous...but on top of that, they're bullet sponges. It's like having an Athena Voyage down 100% of the time with how much damage you have to dish out to clear waves of these suckers.
They've genuinely made island based (GH and OOS) voyages not fun. Heck, they've made it borderline impossible to just enjoy being on an island anymore.
I can't imagine being a newer player to the game now. Not only do they have to be on the lookout for players, their simple voyages are now just chaos and frustration on top of it.
you cannot get anything done
Anything? Not even sailing across the waves, finding an island. Stepping off. Fishing?
I mean I just got off from my session and was able to do everything the game has to offer with fair chances of them spawning and…taking them down.
It not the spawn rate issue. If the players who can’t deal with them.

I would say there is random spawn rate issues at least.
Sometimes crawlers and phantoms spawn like crazy on some islands. Like yesterday in "Lookout Point" I killed two crawlers and before one minute was gone then next two spawned and this continued whole time when I was in island. I planned to catch pig from there for grogmanay event but have to abandon that plan with crawlers spawning all the time. Instead I did that crawler part from grogmanay event there, so managed to do something but without this event I would have just left from that island after couple crawler waves.
So for normal voyages the spawn rate of crawlers and phantoms is too much at the moment. It doesn't prevent doing normal voyages for me but it has changed these encounters to be annoying and not fun at all. And doing things in game should be fun not annoying...

It's not a matter of not being able to deal with them. It's that they've made enjoying a small island nearly impossible. Large islands, for whatever reason, don't seem to have the spawn rate issues. On large islands, the spawn frequency appears to be that of what the skeletons used to be before the crawlers/phantoms were introduced. Now, they're still bullet sponges requiring at least twice the damage that a standard island skeleton would need, but the spawn rate is fine.
Small islands are comical. The spawn is so frequent it's laughable. I mostly feel for newer players. They're trying to get their bearing straight. They're trying to take in the island, get a lay of the land, solve riddles, figure out landmarks to and directions to figure out where their X is...and every 10 seconds they're being interrupted by another wave of bullet sponges.
We veterans take our honed skills and efficiency for granted. We can hop onto Lookout Point and dig an X after a single glance at the map and a single thud of our shovels. We smirk at Crook's Hollow riddles because we're headed to the endless lizard before that clue even fully appears on the paper.
With PvP as challenging as it is for new players, if PvE is also too challenging, they could more quickly be turned off by the game. It's not like there's an "easy" mode they can flick on with phantoms and crawlers.
I think it's generally that if you have a voyage down it will increase the spawn rate of all PvE on islands. However, I don't get the sense that they act in unison, so it just seems like endless phantoms, ocean crawlers, and skellies, at times.
I've suggested it before, and I still think it would be cool, if regions had a main island PvE threat that spawned and the likelihood of the others would be drastically reduced in that region (so primarily you'd get phantoms in the Wilds, ocean crawlers in the Ancient Isles, and skellies in the Shores of Plenty). Obviously, Skellies would still spawn elsewhere when there is a bounty voyage or events.
I think cutting down the overlap of spawnrates would help alleviate a lot of the frustration.
