Rewards beyond the Good Boy Shipset.

    Throughout the years, I have thoroughly enjoyed arena and all of its high competitive gameplay. Either it be during the Notorious Arena League, Sea of Champions or other less-known arena competitions such as the Purple Purl.

    Even though there is only a 2% playtime found within the Arena. There are even less players who've thrived to push it even further.
    Those who've pushed to complete all 'commendations' within the arena AND have reached Legendary Sea Dog.
    Would U consider an idea for even more exclusive cosmetics?

    Idea would be to call it the "Legendary Triumphant Sea Dog".
    Recolor has already been fan-suggested on reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/Seaofthieves/comments/kn1jji/triumphant_sea_dog_in_2020by_anniversary_2021/
    A full Black + Gold Recolor of all the Triumphant Sea Dog weapons | Ship cosmetics | Vanity items | clothing. All of that along with a corresponding title.
    Of course under the same condition which is required to own the "Good Boy ship set" upon the goodbye of the arena.
    Reference: "The cutoff point for being eligible for these rewards was today, January 27th at 6pm UK time. Rewards will be distributed after the closure of The Arena on March 10th."

    I hope Rare could make this happen if the effort wouldn't be to big.
    I humbly want to thank U for the unique PvP experience that The Arena provided to us. We've seen it coming for a long time since December 2020, but it really hurts a lot.

    I‘d like to see you guys running around in those clothes.

    … but here’s why I doubt your suggestion will be implemented:

    Rare made it very clear, that the Good Boy and all the other Ship Cosmetics from the Arena are a gift to the community. Not a reward you can earn.

    The Sea Dog Cosmetics however are rewards you have to earn. Players, who did complete all Commendations of the Sea Dogs have already been rewarded with the legendary and triumphant Sea Dog Cosmetics.

    So your suggestion would yet be another gift … and as much as I‘d like to see these fine Cosmetics of yours in the game, I doubt that Rare will hand out another one.

    Why should they spend precious development time (that we all help to finance) on rewards for literally dead content? Why do you need more special exclusive rewards when you already unlocked 2 of the most rare achievements and rewards in the entire game?

    For the sake of the analogy, imagine if i came up with a suggestion that just because i played in season 1, Rare should randomly give only season 1 players exclusively 3 more variations of the pirate legend curse to show appreciacion for people who played at the time. Doesnt make a lot of sense, does it?

    @alienmagi Yeah I agree with your logic, they dont have to design something new like a whole set.
    But dataminers showed just how much cosmetics were not added, slap one of them could be nice. But not a must of course.

    Im just angry for the strange surprise cutoff, (Ive finished all arena commendation long time ago) give players a deadline!
    It wont upset players like me whove done it because as for now The Arena is still here.

    Players didnt knew about that so they rathered to focus on other things, anyway..... its dumb.

    Because some players have went beyond your view. We have dedicated more time in Arena than the average players.
    The reason why they should add it, is because it was already suggested 1 year ago once they've announced to stop developing the arena.
    The dedicated arena players and communities such as the NAL have forwarded a lot of suggestions and possible fixes. We wanted to how much we cared for the arena and how much we've needed further development.
    If some of those suggestions were implemented, the game mode wouldn't be "literally dead".
    Which is exactly why the players, who've grinded everything which was possible commendation wise in the arena, deserve it, for some of them it took dedication throughout the years.

    I don't agree to the 'surprise' cutoff. Even we as an active arena community playing Galleon arena on a high level in The Alliance Events or The Notorious Arena league saw it coming from miles away. They've announced to stop active development in early December 2020.

    @gottaburn Feel free to check my post in the Arena Goodbye megathread, im well aware that the Arena was dying and Rare made sure to kill it faster, but its dumb to count on players to "feel the air".

    Not sure how hard is to set a date and give players last chance like any other event.
    But you dont to expact anyone to understand anything before you make it clear about your product, its very simple.

    Would love this as a final reward for arena :) Though the condition of just being level 50 does not seem fair and should probably have the more appropriate condition of having both LSD and TSD before March 10th.
