Pirate Legend Sets

I'll agree with this...
When we reached Pirate Legend in the first year, it was like, "Okay, the purple set with golden chains... that's cool, but a little variety, even just colour variants, would be nice. I'm sure they'll get to more later".

Nearly 4 years later, and I'll say that I think there should be more variety, exclusively for Pirate Legends. No need to add grinds to them or exorbitant prices either, IMHO. Just some options, so that every Pirate Legend could pick and choose some things beyond the purple outfit.

Just my opinion on that. I'm a big fan of variety. Hopefully something that will come some day for the PL options.

I personally think that most PL sets should be really grindy, but I agree that it’s definitely lacking in quantity. Even recolors at this point would go a long way to help fill out the shop.

Hopefully they start adding some of last year’s Seasonal PL rewards so the people that missed them can start working towards them.

@targasbr I’d say it’s the first major goal that a lot of players have. Although, it was more of a goal back in the first year when content was scarce.

@targasbr you do you. I personally play the game for goals, not to sink other players. Although, if other players get in the way of goals…

I don't really care for the PL stuff aside from 2 tone hair dyes. I would like a recolour of the Unicorn figurehead.

@snowtheheat Yeah, pirate legend is currently mostly pointless. Unless for the cosmetics, the PL voyages suck. They give less rewards than regular ones, are more annoying to do, are utterly more of the same worn out fetch quests, etc... It used to be more important when the game came out because of how difficult it was to reach it but presently it's easy to do in less than 2 months even with life stuff thrown in. As such, it doesn't even matter as much in terms of how one is seen. Some PL out there are still basically new and fresh to the game.

@pithyrumble Which one? The Athena one? Because that one needs more than a recolor. It needs a complete flair up!

Yeah, the Athena one. I like it if I'm doing a scary asthetic with a bunch of dark tones. Which isn't often. Cause I get attacked more 🤪

I was trying to find a place to post this without having to start a new thread. I submitted this to the SOT team and it was recommended to post this to the forum so here I go. Maybe others have insight and opinions, though I know it may seem like old content to those who have played for a long time.

"I noticed that you are unable to preview your pirate in the legends clothing items, such as the dark adventurer set. The dark adventurer set is really cool and I own several pieces of the set already, but I'm wondering if there is a reason why you can't preview your pirate wearing the items prior to purchasing, like you can with regular closing items. The sets in this area are obviously very expensive for a reason but I'd hate to spend millions of gold on a piece of clothing only to find out I don't like the way my pirate looks and waste all that gold. While I own the jacket, hat, boots, and gloves, I've been debating for months if I should buy the shirt, because I am afraid I won't like it and it's over a million gold. Just a small suggestion would be to allow for a preview from Legendary Duke's clothing the same way you'd get some from the general clothing store. Adding that "dressing room" feature may help other people like myself to make better choices when spending large amount of gold. I still have the dark adventurer ship set to save for after all ;)"

No, it’s not.

You get access to a few voyages and cosmetics and that’s it. I personally know 2 people who quit the Sea of Thieves after making it to Pirate Legend claiming there is nothing left to achieve. Players can even earn Athena Fortune reputation before they are legends

@targasbr game means different things to different people. I (and many of my friends) likes going for goals or cosmetics. That’s the beauty of a Sandbox game!

You can create memories without being a pirate legend. Pirate Legend is just a worthless title and doesn’t mean anything because pirate legend doesn’t offer anything special or something that a non legend can’t achieve. A non legend can complete an Athena Run of Thieves Haven voyage with a legend or a legend can simply slap down a voyage and leave.

My point is that PL status doesn’t mean much

Then why quote my post? My original post was about the PL title being worthless. I didn’t say anything about needing to be pirate legend to make memories
