Empty Chest Is Worth More Than Ashen Chest

  • why is this a thing?? a empty chest is worth more than an ashen seafarers chest…makes no sense.

i really do think if loot is worth way more people would get their fix of money faster and be more inclined to pvp more

u see with golden glory and community day skot more people play so why not give it a big increase now

  • Before the inflation of better loot, low value loot was valuable to new players as it was easier to obtain and cash in over more expensive and valuable treasures which used to be Captain's Chests and Stronghold Chests.

They still keep this kind of design despite adding better and more accessible world events, sea forts, shrines and treasuries, and god knows what else to a player just starting the game.

I'd ask for more of a change in value to the loot but really Rare did enough damage to the game's economy. We just need a bigger range of voyages than 3 choices a day at the representative at the outpost. At the very least I can take a new player on a quick voyage and cash in something valuable for them instead of getting a 2 hour chest digging voyage that gets us in more trouble than needed.

  • Taking a look at the wiki, I found that both items have similar value ranges.

    Ashen seafarer's is 280 - 520
    Empty chest is 250 - 520

So while the lowest possible value of the ashen chest is technically higher, it is possible to be rewarded at the lower end, and receive a higher reward for the collector's chest.

Rather than needlessly buffing other loot, I think the empty chest could be nerfed to 50-100 gold. Other than at Sea Forts, you rarely find them empty anyway.
