Hunter's Call - Voyages + Emmisary + Specialized bait

  • The light for this idea was fumed by a Thread about beeing able to buy bait ..
    But for me it means much more then just that, thats why i created my own thread with my own idea...

    Lets finally make the Hunter's Call a full blown faction.. This is a multi-stage idea and will be formed as such in this thread.

    • Adding Voyages
      For the HC ( Hunter's Call ) to become a full faction we wil need Voyages from the Seapost representative.. in futher parts in this thread i will go into detail about my thoughts here.
      But basicly we can much like any other voyage buy/get them from the seapost representative and get Regional voyages "The Finest Trading Post" and "Stephen's Spoils" Will get you voyages that result in "Cursed Leeches" For Ancientcales + Stormfish. ( see * Cursed bait)

    • Purchasable Baitcrate
      For people to start of on these voyages we should be allowed to buy a "Baitcrate" thats contains 10 or so peaces of each type of bait, This is much like the Wood/Cannonball/Fruitcrate Where you can buy 1 per in this case seapost per X amount of time. ( ingame day ).
      so it should have
      10 x Grubs
      10 x Leeches
      10 x Earthworm
      10 x Minnow ( Described later )

    • Cursed bait
      Yep, This will tie into the voyages, basicly you grab a voyage at a seapost that leads you to a fort for example this wil then result in 1 Cursed grub..
      the in this case cursed grub can then be used to fish up a Uncommon or Rare Battlegill.. 70% on Rare and 30% on Uncommon trophy. With same ruleset as a regular battlegill ( active fort etc etc )
      So basicly these voyages will lead you to the location of a "Cursed bait"that can be used to fish up Rares with a higher rate...

    For the Cursed bait the idea would be as follows
    Cursed grubs = DevilFish + BattleGill
    Cursed leeches = AncientScale + StormFish
    Cursed earthworm = WildSplash + Plentyfinn + Wrecker.
    Cursed minnow ( Small fry ) = Islehoppers + Pondie + Splashtail.

    As addition add the "regular" minnow on the catchlist ( no struggle ) for any area when fishing without bait ( 1 in 5 throws 20%), that will then be the regular go to bait type for Islehoppers + Pondie + Splashtail, You should still be able to catch them without but only the Base + Common + Night.
    Meaning that the Uncommon + Rare can only be caught with the minnow as bait and as stated before..the Cursed minnow allows for a 70% rare catchrate...

    Every cursed bait will only come in quantities of 1 per voyage..
    So you do a voyage in the Devilsridge or at a fort for the cursed grub. ( 2 Diffrent voyages )
    At the ancientisles or at a storm for a cursed leech.
    Etc etc so basicly the Voyages already take you to a place where you can use the Cursed bait...
    The voyages should be time limited only 1 of each type per X time.

    • Common ideas
      Maybe at any later time or exactly at the time this is al added we could add HC as a possible emmisary, Possible add a table and a book at the outpost to vote it up/down..
      as said the baitcrate will then form a bases to start from and after having completed a voyage and caught the fish you could continue fishing with the bait you either found or bought with the crate.
      The Addition of the "Minnow" or "Small Fry" Allows for the Cursed variant and also focussing more on a specific type of fish while not undercutting current fishing rates.

    This will lead to more interaction with HC as a whole and make it fit more in with the other factions
    Added effect is, since these voyages lead you to the location + the cursed bait it will also add a learning curve of learning where and when to use certain bait types...

    Im not saying its bad, its just it feels bland.
    There is no predefined purpose that is mostly achieved through voyages, and coupled to that extra commendations.

    I mean i love fishing for a peacefull Day, but it just feels empty after having 30 ish fish caught in 1 round of fishing..
    Love for it to be like.. you know what ill do a voyage now and get me a rare fish...after completion, then ill continue fishing mindlessly for a while..

    Described situation does not alter the current fishing, meaning if you love and are used to doing it the way you currently are, You are still verry free to do so...

  • i like ur idea , a voyage of any kind could help with the rep progression but i think a emissary flag for the faction could fix the issue, with merik been big part to save goldensand outpost , we know merik is the leader of the hunter faction so who know maybe he gonna established himself there to help relation with others faction .

    Its not only bout the emmi flag though.
    Its mostly to gain more interraction with the whole Hunter's Call..
    You start a voyage and at the end get a reward worthy of your investment..

    For now rares are up to the RNG gods.. this allows you to gain a sense of controll of what is going to be the outcome, Although mostly it still is RNG but just the sense of having control and your prior actions having affect pulls a player into the wanting to complete whatever they are doing...

    Well i would beg to disagree, Considering that MA consist of grab this bring it back.
    And yes you could technically do that, Though more efficiënt would be , Start voyage.... complete voyage by finding the cursed bait and stay a while to fish up more of that type while you are there..

    So it serves more as a starting Point for a fishing trip then "the only thing you do"
