Unable to purchase a ship

  • Not sure if its just because of congestion, or if maybe things aren't just aligning right, but I can't seem to purchase a ship.
    I've tried logging in and out of Xbox Live, restarting the game, restarting my computer.

    All that seems to be consistent is that it states that it cannot load the ship selection, and to try again shortly.

    This has been happening for about an hour and a half now, so unsure what shortly could mean. Anyone else getting this?

    same issue here, has pruchased a sloop. And now i cant buy any other ship typ (Brig/Galli).

    Alway saying i have not complete my sloop pruchase but i cant finalize it.

    Pretty Bad :(

  • Hi I am also experiencing this issue on Steam. I've tried validating my files and restarting my computer. Everything short of uninstalling and reinstalling the game. and at it's current size I really do not want to do that

  • I am also having the same issue. Not sure if it's the servers or what, but I've waited a few hours and tried again and no luck...

    Note: When I go to purchase, it acts like there's an incomplete purchase of a sloop (which I already own), so if I back out in the menu to change type and continue it then posts this error...

    EDIT: Fixed the issue by dismantling my original sloop and rebuying a new one off the incomplete purchase prompt it was giving me (luckily I have a ton of gold, but some people probably aren't that lucky)

  • @djkouta probably busy servers...it's the first day of that update, so this is what is to be expected...
    As always when an update arrives in SoT...

  • Okay, only way to solve the issue for me was delte the sloop with all his progress so far... and than i can complette the "uncomplette" purchase. After this i can buy new ships....

  • I’m unable to purchase none of the ships. Every ship gives the same error message. “Purchase failed” followed by “unable to purchase ship, please try again later. So frustrating it’s unreal…..

    Guys I sended a ticket to Rare staff, at this moment we are discussing via email I'll send you more informations if I have some. The first thing you have to try is to reboot your game to try to finish the incomplete purchase. In my case I tried everything and it did not work.

  • @lys-raph Same issue here. Uninstalling and reinstalling the game does not help, neither does "dismantling" your ship

  • Same problem here, bought the Galleon and I can't buy another ship (Sloop/Brig), as the Galleon purchase seems to be incomplete.

  • Same problem - can’t access any of the new content as buying the sloop somehow got corrupted. Only became an issue when the pirate ghost interactions became broken, it didn’t help it wasn’t entirely clear what to do. That really needed a check list showing each of the steps on setting up a ship. Tracking this forum as it seems to be the only place it gets mentioned.

    I can not buy any of the three just get a constant “error please try later”. Frustrating. Havnt been able to play the update since season 7 launched!!

  • This sucks, I guess I just got lucky by being able to buy my trio when the update released. Hope to hear that you can buy your other ships soon!

    Out of curiosity: what will be their names?

  • I have no idea. I haven't thought that far ahead. Im getting quite disheartened as I’m still effectively on season 6 when everyone else is cruising around on season 7. Just want it to work. Im checking every morning and it’s not happening. Still Unable to purchase any ship. Now support are not relaying back to me. It’s gone quite for 4 days with them now.

  • Same problem here. Haven't been available to buy a ship at all. It loads and then comes the error message and it say try agen later. I been trying everyday and still dosen’t work.

    The same thing is happening to me, except it’s wanting me to repurchase a galleon, which I already have in addition to a whole days worth of progress, and it won’t let me purchase my sloop. I don’t mind losing the gold, but I really don’t want to dismantle and lose the progress I’ve already made on my galleon. I hope they fix this soon. For now, I’ll just have to hold off on purchasing a sloop.

    No nothing has gotten fixed. Aparently they passed the case to the “dev” team. All I want is an update as to what the hell is going on, but just feels I’m being ghosted. As soon as I get an update I will post here. But as of today. Still no update. One week into season 7 and I’m stuck on season 6 😂

  • Same problem. Bought a Sloop (lost double the money, so 500k), seems to be an incomplete purchase and now I can't get brig or galleon.

    At this moment I have no solution from the staff I am still waiting. I guess that they will ask me to dismantle the ship. Honnestly I would not lose my progression, besides the fact that a lot of us already finished a big part of the game and nothing is retroactive in the milestones (except for the shrouded ghost kills).

    I will give you the informations I have when I can. If it can help players obviously

  • I received this response this morning. It’s not very hopeful as at present I am effectively being blocked by RARE from playing of the new content that season 7 has to offer.
    Response from ticket is as follows:

    Same here, my ticket has been closed today. They specified that they are not leaving us in trouble with this issue but investigating to fix it in a future update.

    Let's wait for the fix, I'm sad to see that people here were not even able to buy a single ship.

    Looks like they are working on it. But it is a shame that this has happened. There’s been no hotfix today so it’s just a waiting game on a week by week baises.

    Yes it is a shame, even the implementation of a form of cancel button should of not been overlooked. Just shear frustration that it’s not working as it should. So many other people than the people on this thread that have reported the same on social media groups, but havnt come here to report it.

  • are you guys still unable to buy a ship? I still have 0, haha and I've been waiting since the day the update came out. But I guess all we have to do is hope and wait

  • I have bought a sloop but when I try to buy a brig/galleon it says that it’s unavailable. When I load into my soo the pirate lord appears every single time when I spawn and he tell me to go to my ship and he just never appears.

    Hey buddy. Yes this is the case with me. If you havnt already I strongly recommend that you raise a ticket with support. It took about 3 reply’s for them to realise what’s going on and it was then passed onto the dev crew.

    I havnt been able to purchase anything since release of the update!

  • @slightlyerotic Yeah I did on day one, they said the same exact thing, I've actually been looking for other people with this issue so they report it.

  • @jacksongamer128 the more people who have it/the more likely it's fixed faster. (Forgot to add this in my other comment) (also just realized there's a edit feature lol)
