Randomly happens sometimes on login, other times just randomly but my textures are all fuzzy, well not all, but things like sails my gun, sniper scope, storage crates, are all fuzzy and not textured, never had this problem before this update but it’s really annoying as I can’t enjoy the beauty of the beauty of the game.
Textures not loading
OK, well I am reporting that on Xbox One the original the textures don't load all the way and are blurry. This is happening to me and my friend. This seems like an old glitch that has come back. I can't believe that more people are not reporting this as the loading issues are getting out of hand. Quest maps are not showing up in the wheel, and when they do they glitch, items in all stores are disrupted. It seems like caching is messed up so things just have to keep getting re-downloaded. Mission images show placeholders or a tall tale image instead of the actual mission. All kinds of weirdness. For gosh sake, the NPCs do not load until 8 seconds of standing at their stand. Going away and coming back causes them to disappear again. Literally we bought all four supply crates and the game deemed it fit to not give us all of the crates that we paid for. This is out of control.
For me it's usually like this:
I start the game, load into my first server and everything is fine. If I play in that server for a while textures start going fuzzy and all that stuff.
And everytime I start the game, join my first server, leave that server, and join another server, all textures on that new server never load. Everything is low quality and the lod is messed up. So basically every Server that I join that isn't the first one after starting the game is messed up. I can drive up to a Fortress and its not loaded in at all. Or in the Mainmenu I can still select which ship I wanna sail and stuff but the menu textures, images and background are never fully loading in or really low quality. I'm still able to see the text saying "My Ships" when I want to sail one of my Captained ships but there is no button loading in. It's just the text but nothing else loading in. Same goes for all the other options in the menu.
First I thought it was just an issue related to my setup, but it started around the time the new adventure was added and people have been having the same issues.
I tried reinstalling, verifying file integrety with steam,... but nothing fixed it. I hope there will be an update taking care of this soon.
Most of the time the game is still playable. Sometimes when my inventory is glitched, so I can't get anything out of my pockets, and none of my inventory textures or shop textures are loading in, it isn't playable.
Same thing happening to me on XBOX ONE Original. It seems to mostly happen on islands and the textures load (relatively) fine if I'm in the open sea unless I'm in a sea battle with another player than it's right back to latency. I agree with the person who said it has to be a caching issue. And I to seem to have the issue where sometimes my full inventory just up and vanishes which sucks, really into the new stuff but the eye strain is murder.
I’ve been having issues with this for a good few months now, it’s often unplayable, particularly the crosshair not loading on the eye of reach, also blurry/no textures are; compass, detail on sword, sails, capstan, cannons, items in shops not loading amongst others.
I was playing on max field of view but I reduced this (reluctantly) to 84 and it has helped a little bit it’s not perfect like it was before the new gen consoles came out. Rare must know this is an issue now as I have raised this to their support team a few times now. I still had to figure out myself that reducing field of view may increase textures loading.
Ahoy, again!
As I said above that I’ve had issues that have gotten worse over recent weeks so I’ve taken the time to troubleshoot as much as possible and it seems I may have a fix that improves textures.
Hard reset console; hold power button down until console turns off, disconnect power cable from the back and turn off at socket, leave for 2 minutes and then on. This action will clear your cache.
Clear as many captures as possible; I have a 95% yellow warning that I had too many captured data so I cleared almost everything, this action will be up data that will free up console performance.
Delete any other accounts you have on your console.
Delete any game you haven’t played in a long time.
Pirate; I had every possible item on my pirate, so I removed gloves, hat, shoes, I had no jacket anyway so just left my sea dogs trousers, scorched forsaken belt, gold curse, tattoo for all umbra journals and parrot beard. Hopefully I seen this as less stuff to load into the game.
Field of view, although not ideal I’ve reset this to default (78).
Turned off background music so no music during loading screen or doing any boss that plays music; ashen winds, fleet etc.
Summary: Some of the trouble shooting I’ve done may not have had any effect but I have seen a big increase in performance/rendering. What I’d advise is do as much of this as possible and get back to this thread to let us know if it has also helped.
Continued: Make sure you haven’t left your Xbox on idle for hours before, make sure when you load into the game or a server that the console is still relatively cool.
I used to leave my console on overnight, wake up the next day and play. I did this from launch, I rarely turned my console off tbh, but I’ve found that as Rare aren’t acknowledging there’s an issues and it’s up to the community to troubleshoot I’ve found this has been the biggest help to ensure that textures are loading.
Entire layers of graphics not loading for me on xbox 1.
As I spawn into the tavern for the first time contents of barrels, ship customization are all missing. The links are there but you are selecting blind.
Waiting it out doesn't work, maybe it's not laggy rendering.. to fix it have to quit sea of theives completely then restart from the very beginning.
I have tried all the things my end that might help (ample free space on drive, ample internet, no extended field of view, clear cache, restarted xbox, hard reset xbox, uninstalled and reinstalled game.)
I don't think it's just me either. Quite tedious at times. Luckily I love this game so imma persevere lol
