How do quest board and voyages work?

  • I don't want to take the time to test 2 very specific questions.

    1. quest board. Is that EVERY quest or do you get presented with only a small selection of the global total to browse?

    2. quest board. How long does YOUR posted quest last?

    3. voyages. When you buy voyages they go on your captain's bookshelf. If you leave game then do they all disappear? Or once bought they stay with the ship?

    1. Quest board maps are limited to that
      server.
    2. It stays on there until another crew takes
it or the server shuts down (either way
      you'll recieve your rewards)
    3. Your captain's voyages will stay in your
ship's voyage inventory until you either
      use them or discard
  • I should add that if someone does your posted map, you get rewarded on login.
From the one time I saw a gain I think it was just 25 doubloons.

Players don't seem to take maps often, even after I started pumping out commendations for them by doing things like burying an entire seafort worth of loot, 5 items per island, and posting them all.

They don't take map bundles because it's often better to know what you're going to get (via doing a world event or specific voyage) than random chance.

It could have been a feature that the Order of Souls lady takes a few doubloons and provides you with the names of the top 3 treasures with the highest (gold) value. This might have given incentive for players to search for the loot but also incentivize players to leave high valued loot behind. Players that have their item featured in the top 3 by the OOS lady get renown.

This is a pretty cool idea that might breathe some life back into the map board. I got pretty excited about the maps until it became apparent that almost all of them were RNG-generated, and the loot was generally lousy.
