Ahoy mateys. So this topic is my idea about famous "Black Spot" and it's functions.
If ye all remember "The Black Spot" was peresented to us by Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest and Treasure Island (written by Robert Louis Stevenson). Each of them has different meaning of "The Black Spot", each of it is legendary.
In the Treasure Island, "The Black Spot" is the mark of death. Pirates were presented with a "black spot" to officially pronounce a verdict of guilt or judgement.
In Pirates of the Carribean: Dead Man's Chest, "The Black Spot" is source of fear, a sign that pirate has been cursed or marked for death. Pirates who recieved a "black spot" were doomed to Davy Jones Locker. Also, they were haunted by a creature, which "drawn with ravenous hunger to the man what bears...the Black Spot".
My idea is that "Black Spot" combines this 2 functions. It is the source of great fear and the mark of death, which officially pronounce verdict of guilt or judgement, and doomed pirate to Davy Jones Locker...or worse...
Pirate can recieve it in 2 ways:
- He can recieve it randomly, while doing Voyage or Tall Tale, or Adventure, or while just sailing.
- From another pirate or from yer crewmate. That's right. One bilge rat can decide it's funny to give a curse to one of him crewmates or someone else.
Such mark is the curse, pirate who carry this mark will be doomed to become Krakens prey (There will be a small cutscene in which mark will appear on pirates hand). Pirate who bears Black Spot won't be able to use mermaids; sharks, fish and sirens will sail away from him. There is only few ways how he can deal with such problem:
First, Stay on the land. STAY AWAY FROM SEA!!! and wait till it will dissapear (it will require 30 mins - 1 hour to dissapear). But someone else will be immideately cursed after that.
Second, Give the Black Spot to someone else. Perhaps there will be another pirate from another crew or even yer own crew. All ye need is just to shake him hand. There will be a cutscene of you shaking him hand (If you killed while cutscene, don't worry, Black Spot is now him problem).
Third, Sail to open sea and face the Kraken. Thats right, Ye heard it, ye will sail to open sea and fight the Kraken. Do know, he will be twice stronger then standard one, but him bring twice more loot than standard one.
To spot a pirate who bear "black spot" ye need just to look at him hand. Ye will see "Black Spot" clear as mud. Unless him wears gloves, then it is a "surprise".
Such mark is very rare, but when it happen, it will bring a large variety of changes and opportunities to the seas. That even cold-blooded pirates will tremble in fear of recieving one.
