Xbox Elite Controller

  • I've never used one of these, it looks like they have extra buttons on the bottom? Can those be mapped to SoT functions like regular buttons?

You can only map buttons that exist and would overlap and not be functional. There is no L Rear Paddle button in SoT.

There is also no A+B, X+Y, Y+A or any other button combo you can think of in SoT.

If you're getting it to keep up with Kb/M mappings specifically for SoT don't waste the extra money. If you play other things that have multibutton presses for specials etc yes.

  • @pithyrumble Thanks, I was hoping for that feature but my controller was broken, so I decided to get the elite anyway.

It does have some nice features that work with SoT.

The adjustments on the toggles is really nice and helps with weapon aim by having the fine tuning be less sensitive.

I was able to map one of the extra buttons to the sprint, which was always a little cumbersome for me pushing the toggle down while moving.

And the rechargeable battery is really nice, my rechargeable batteries were old and not holding a charge long.

  • @foambreaker nice! Didja go design labs or just stock?

  • @pithyrumble I went with the stock. It was in stock at my local Best Buy.

Yes they can. Also, pro console tip: remap your jump button to clicking and holding down the right analog stick or something, just don't have it as A. Also, you could have saved money by buying a PowerA controller because they have paddles on the back, but less than the elite controller, and the PowerA controllers can be wired controllers, which improve in game response time with the console picking up the controller's signal about what to do.

I am uncomfortable with 3rd party "budget" controllers. How are the power a's? I see them all over in "mainstream" places.

  • @pithyrumble

I have not tried out a PowerA controller yet, but have seen good reviews for them and it was recommended by a YouTuber who gave Sea of Thieves controller PvP Tips and he did a lot of research.
