    Developers, please explain to me. Why do I have to play against a galleon in hourglass mode on a solo sloop? Can someone explain and give adequate arguments for this objection? Hardly! Because it does not fit into any framework.

    You were asked to make an anti-cheat. Where he? Is all you managed to do is add new skins to the donation bench? Is it possible for the poor fool to send a complaint out of the game? What makes the options for sending a complaint so funny! No one cares what the name of the ship is and what its nickname is.

    And for sending complaints to support, he also wishes for the best. What internal investigation? What is the purpose of internal deicing? Do you have at least an understanding of what the concept of "internal de-icing" is? In all games, a report is sent to the person who filed the complaint. But not you! Because the only thing you write is "internal de-icing". And then you just forget about the scandal and don't ban anyone.

    Why don't you send a complaint to steam and xbox about cheater players, so that your game on their accounts is deleted and to play again, let them buy the game again. The perfect punishment!!!!

    @horribledex if you reach a 4 streak you have 2 options to vote. On the left side of the captains table regular match. On the right side of the table champions battle in which you opt in to match against a bigger crew…. ANY bigger crew

    And then they get a new account, get a 1$ gamepass subscription and hey presto back on again.

    Don’t get me wrong, if someone is cheating or just being a toxic player they deserve punishment and the punishment should be more severe then it is now, but on the flip side of the coin the fighting against hackers/cheaters always was and always will be an uphill battle

    The fight against violators is not so difficult, the main thing is that the ingenuity works well. And if one of the programmers does not know how to do it, then it is better to find a replacement for him!

    The money comes from people spending their money in the emporium, also just to not not a single graphics artist (the people working on cosmetics) have any expertise to add to the combatting of cheaters… it is not how software development works.

    For cheaters they do not care if they get the game on steam or on xbox. And also if you look around a bit you can get steam keys for sea of thieves for less then $ 9,=

    Some cheaters are already paying upwards of $ 15 a month to use their cheats so an extra $ 9 … who cares

    When they respond to me it is generally like this:

    Based on the evidence you and others have provided this player has been banned

    So no it is not my opinion.

    Again providing evidence is key

    Not difficult? Okay you be the genius to fix it… there are a couple million software developers in the world which you can all hire, be it juniors or highly experienced anti cheat gods, however in order to hire them you need to pay them, every hour of every day of every week of every month you want to keep them employed (an average developer pay in the uk is $ 50k per year) . However the war you are waging is against just as many if not more software devs and script kiddies working for free to find every single flaw in order to exploit it.

    You see the imbalance here ? the fight against cheaters will never be over.

    And before you go and say “a good software dev should be able to create asystem that is unexploitable” no this is 100% impossible at least with a big and complex system like sea of thieves or any other large scale project.

    Now you might want to know where i get my credentials to state such things, I have over 6 years of development experience ranging from healthcare to the finance world apart from extra experience acquired by my own private projects

    Do goofy fruity pink flowery pirate/ship sets sell really that good? The red crab outfit? (I'm sure some like it, I just sigh when I open my wallet and look for stuff to buy there)

    Would adding DA sail cut (as an example) to be purchased there (just the cut) would loose them money? Would upset the community?

    How many here wanted to be Cutler Becket in sea of thieves for real world money? Like honestly? Would you rather purchase Jack Sparrows fathers one instead?

    How many want to spend 2.5£ for an emote?

    How many would like to purchase a Katana?

    How many would like to purchase as example Ninja/Samurai outfit as an example (instead of goofy pink flowery one?)

    Don't wanna trash talk devs, but unless we are getting new POTC tall tales, or those fruity goofy cosmetics are their bestselles I just don't get it.

    I am not able to look into the Rare’s finances but do not underestimate how much money is spent on “micro” transaction stores like this, i mean fortnite has been running on that since its inception.

    Probably adding something like the da sails cutout as an option would make them quite a bit of money up front but also cost them alot because they would have to make all sails work with something like that.

    I am guessing that emotes, clothing and pets is the biggest bankers, but again i have no eye on their financials.

    However in general you can see a shops best seller from viewing what they keep producing

    @callmebackdraft Then I'm honestly baffled mate. I understand pets are a good seller, I purchased a few myself.

    But I just don't understand why they don't want to sell stuff that people keep asking. I've seen many posts here and there that people want some knight like stuff/samurai stuff/different cool swords/ separate cool cosmetic items/ piratey looking stuff and instead it's Kings Ransom Ship / The pink flower one re-released. I never got sunk by a pink flowery ship as far as I remember. Most pirates like Pirate stuff/Sea of Thieves lore stuff whenever you meet them on the seas.

    My only guess with such heavy social media influence, statistically they are hoping to give a false impression on the game as I would not be surprised that alot of players purchase/xbox game pass - download the game-buy a ship set, stop playing shortly afterwards.

    I really doubt they would keep making stuff that people don't want as you said. But you don't see many of those on the seas.

    @zig-zag-ltu its hard to say, it could also be that some of the heavily requested cosmetics are in the pipeline.

    Don’t be mistaken it can take months for a cosmetic to be production ready, stuff they are releasing now in the emporium could be something they have been working on for the past several months, on and off maybe so they could start work on a set today and then work on it on and off until next year f.i. (Extreme example but you get my point i hope)

    I know of some people that keep buying every ship set released… so if one or two do that it will probably be a couple hundred in the grand scheme of things

    Also, why even create these sets:

    Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of really cool ones. If I could customize them, the Chinese(Lunar I believe) with yellow glowing eyes and the hat would be instant buy to cosplay Raiden from MK.

    But from the links, do you run into them on the seas? I might have seen that pink one with ginger beard on alliance server once. I hope they make Rare money as I wouldn't even wear it if it was free.

    Actually they do. I once file a report of someone using some very bad words (i will leave it with that here) and 12 hours later i got a reply back saying that the player i reported was suspended based on the evidence that me and others (my crewmates) had sent and with a thank you to me for reporting.

    @super87ghost All they sent me was "Thank you for your request. Your materials have been submitted for evaluation. But since this is an internal investigation, we cannot disclose its results." . And so constantly.

    @horribledex Okay, but then there are moments where they do it, perhaps not always depending on the circumstances? Also sounds like they needed to do more investigation and didn't want to keep the ticket open during that entire time.

    the complaint remains open, because then they send a response "Thank you for the request, if necessary, contact again" but there is no answer as to whether they were banned or not!

    Rare is one of the few that when an action is taken based on your report, they tell you. I've gotten a couple of confirmations lol. They don't go into detail, but let you know the report was actionable.

    Most of the time with other systems it's just "thanks for the report" regardless of action. If you don't get a report response your report wasn't valid or was missing evidence.

    And why don't you apply for Rare and instantly fix all the cheating and actual toxicity since it's obviously sooooo easy?

    Also, OP hit wrong button. it happens.

    If you are fighting against a galleon while solo in hour glass, either thats a third party, or after a streak you voted on the wrong option and did it to your self. Its not a cheat.

    @horribledex When the report is sound, they tell you that it resulted in a ban. When it isn't sound, they don't tell you anything.
    There's a good chance that what you saw as a bannable offense was either not a bannable offense or your evidences were lackluster.

    Sometimes, in the heat of the moment, I could swear that someone is cheating. When reviewing the footage tho, I often can find an explanation : desync, hitreg, luck...

    Regarding the fact that you have faced a Galleon while sailing on a sloop, adequate explanation has already been given. You chose the wrong option. An argument could be made that the button needs to be elsewhere not to be pushed by the more impatient pirates, but that's the extent of it and it doesn't warrant outrage.

    Yeah. Sounds like they couldn't ban who you reported, based on just your report, but can still use the info.

    I wasn't saying you shouldn't have reported it. Just that they couldn't use it to do what you wanted them to.
