I'm kind of sick and tired of winning a sweaty fight in hourglass just to get a lack luster amount of rep. the rep you gain from winning in hourglass should be more. getting a third of a level per fight just isn't enough to keep most people playing it. I'm sticking to it because I love the grind, most players are casual though and do not have the time for the grind. Please Rare increase the amount of rep you get for winning or host some kind of day in the week where its doubled or something.
XP In Servants and Guardians increase
The hourglass grind is end game content, its not meant to be done in a month or two. We are talking years to "complete" that grind.
We do not need to get everything immediately, enjoy the grind and game. There is no hurry to get there, just because popular streamers and similar have already done it.
We usually do some hourglass fights before we end our session, to use up all the supplies that we have found during our sailing in adventure mode. With this slow pace i/we will get to level 100 in servants and perhaps 50 in the other one by the end of this year.
I'd say the buff on xp needs to go into loss xp to encourage more of the playerbase to take part. Two ways that would help, having the loot grade multiplier increase xp gained on loss to encourage players to vote in defensive while going about there general adventure and a percentage of the hourglass value being awarded if you sink with a streak. Participation is what hourglass is lacking, the xp for winning is about right.
Some deeds that award allegiance wouldn't go amiss either which has been brought up by many users, first win, first battle, miles sailed while representing faction etc.
@yaboibigturd does that matter? It's greater participation and both examples I gave require a degree of effort to obtain still. I don't get this loss farmer complaint, it's a free win. I've been playing hourglass semi regular since November (season 8) and I am yet to meet one. I would quite gladly take the free win.
@a10dr4651 don’t get me wrong I agree I like getting free wins but sinking people that just wanna lose kinda just seems boring.
@yaboibigturd I get that. The amount of time someone would spend loss farming, if they tried fighting back in that same time they may actually learn something and would probably start winning a fair few battles. I still maintain though that loss farmers are a minority.
Hourglass is a great concept, it just needs some extra carrots dangled to get the more casual side of the playerbase to step in to it.
@yaboibigturd At least you had a match. My ship gets thrown in the air and kegs are teleported aboard.
Indeed, it should be buffed; the amount you got throughout captaincy week wasn't even stupid. I thought it would be a reasonable amount for the current state. They should just keep it or add more PvP-focused days with some sort of multiplier.
Especially with the current cheaters.@sandfeld2004 said in XP In Servants and Guardians increase:

Rather just continue the streak, it gives much more when you have a streak on 4.It gives more per win, but if you sink you will lose that streak without the large boost to rep that comes from a cash in.
@goldsmen
Large bonus.. If you win just one more, it counts the same as lowering the streak to 4. I mean sure, if you are interested in gold go for it, but otherwise it isnt worth.@sandfeld2004 said in XP In Servants and Guardians increase:

I mean sure, if you are interested in gold go for it, but otherwise it isnt worth.Lowering gives you a collective bonus, not just a single win worth of rep, the bonus does grow the longer you go, but you risk losing that bonus and your 4 streak every round you go. So unless you can consistently win, its very highly advisable you drop and raise again after a few runs.
My entire point is that the op wants more rep, but there is a way to get more rep.
@goldsmen
Well, the huge XP lays in continuing the streak, and I understand for less well-off people that it is smart to drop after a 4 streak.
The point of this post is to buff the XP overall, which is needed. I win the most matches, as long as the opponent isn't the fastest athletic swimmer, Olympic ladder climber, or even bomb expert. But still, it takes it and gives nearly nothing in XP.The problem is that the fights can take hours and you get the same reputation for winning and losing. That’s why the solo slooping and inviting your enemies for the win was so profitable. I suggest an alternate.
The Arena had a 15 minute timer. For every 15 minutes you spend fighting you get a multiplier on the amount of reputation you get when you win or lose. For example, if you fight for an hour you would get a 4X multiplier on your reputation whether you win or loose. The hourglass value can stay the same but the amount of reputation should definitely multiply.
If the sloop boosting is still a thing, it would take about 15 minutes to set up so this method would discourage boosting because you can get the same amount of reputation from an honest fight.
@yaboibigturd and...no seriously and?!? people will do that stuff anyway increase or not why punish legit players by trying to stick it a minority of hg users
