SEA OF THIEVES IN GEFORCE NOW, IMMEDIATELY

  • Please, i'm begging you, please, add Sea Of Thieves in the Geforce now Cloud Gaming, a bunch of players who can't play the game cause don't have the minimun requirements are crazy for this.

"Oh, but have you ever tryed play it in Xcloud?" - Xcloud doesn't support Mouse/Keyboard and the Sea Of Thieves PVP is a Loooooooot better in Mouse/Keyboard, no way we can have fun in a little xbox controller, i'm sorry, so please, please, put this game on the GFN, take advantage of GFN is now supporting games from the Microsoft Store, Put it there too, powered by steam as well.

  • Just curious, why not play on steam or Microsoft store? What advantage does geforce now has?

  • Okay so after having to read up on what GE Force Now is and the fact they have a partnership with GamePass, it’s easy to assume SoT will come to it eventually. Not in Rare’s control but be patient.

  • As per The Verge, August 22nd 2023, regarding Xbox games being added to GeForce Now:

Nvidia is starting to roll out access to PC Game Pass and Microsoft Store titles on its GeForce Now streaming service this week. PC Game Pass subscribers will be able to start streaming titles through GeForce Now on August 24th, including first-party Microsoft games like Deathloop and Grounded as well as third-party titles like No Man’s Sky and Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord.

While PC Game Pass and Microsoft Store games will be available on GeForce Now, not all of them will be available to stream immediately on Nvidia’s service. Nvidia has done the work to integrate the Microsoft Store into GeForce Now, but it still needs to onboard all the games that are available on a PC Game Pass subscription.

That means PC Game Pass subscribers and anyone who has purchased a Microsoft Store game might need to wait a little while yet for their entire library to be available on GeForce Now.

Now, while there is a deal in place between Microsoft and Nvidia (something which we didn't anticipate even half a year ago), I've bolded some important phrases in the quoted article above that indicate that it is Nvidia who are the ones in charge of adding the games to their service, not Microsoft and certainly not Rare.

  • @tesiccl I just read about it as well, it seems that you sort of 'stream' games which puts you at a disadvantage during pvp and geforce now is bad in general in all competitive games (lets call sea of thieves that as it is once you encounter other pirates and that's almost a guarantee)

But it is better for single player games apparently?

I still don't understand how it works...

I really should catch up on modern technology and be as educated as when I was at 12...

It's pretty rewarding and definitely better than not playing at all or playing on hardware that has issues.

I switched to controller and cloud to challenge myself and get out of being too comfortable. It's had frustrations but it's added challenge and reward back into day to day play, as far as actual gameplay goes.

It's far more rewarding on controller when switching after having all the experience on m/kb imo.

I had my first solid victory in a long fight that included naval/tdm/land/loot/revenge/etc yesterday and it was more rewarding than anything I've done with m/kb in years, combat-wise.

The XCloud instance of Sea of Thieves (and all of the games in XCloud's library) are streaming from Xbox Series Xs, which in Sea of Thieves' case, means you have access to opting out of crossplay. Since you're relegated to a controller like most players who purchased the game on their Xbox systems, consider playing on the Controller-only servers if you choose to play on XCloud?

If you're opting for a way to play the game in the most optimal way without having the money for an optimal piece of hardware, I'm sorry to say, transition away from competitive gaming. It's not healthy if your system isn't even remotely compatible with it, no matter how "fun" it may seem.

GeForce Now, and Xbox Game Streaming (exclusive to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate users) allows users to use their internet connection to play a game without needing the hardware specification to download it.

It comes with it's own issues, such as connection issues that can lag your button inputs, distort the screen, and depending on the platform, weirder ways to communicate with other players.

I indulged in this during my first year of playing Sea of Thieves because I loved playing it ever since I was invited to the game in 2020, but heavily disliked how much of a disadvantage I had in PVP conflicts as my college laptop that was meant to handle schoolwork at best, could barely run the game at a consistent 30 FPS, and froze attempting to load islands.

Eventually I got a better laptop that now runs the game at a fair 70 FPS (was 90-100 but SoT's updates to the world really do strain on the CPU lol)

I can understand the desperation of wanting PC access to a competitively PC game like this, especially when noobs are very easy to dunk on if you know how to quick swap all of your friends have fun playing the game with their decent-enough hardware and go toe to toe with some tougher than usual challenges. At the same token, you've gotta understand what you can game on to have a good time, and if you can't meet those requirements, it's time to look elsewhere, to something less hardware intensive.

GFN user here and I play competitive shooters with it. Believe me, it works. It is reliant of many factors though, your ISP, your home internet set-up, your location (are you close to a datacenter). If that all fits it's almost like witchcraft. Ultimate tier of GFN has a lower latency than a Xbox console.

  • @mighlowfis if you would have looked it up you would know that it is up to Nvidia to do the further onboarding of other games. Not rare not microsoft.

Maybe a little research before making such a demanding thread
