First off, anytime any of us bring up the topic of the RAMPANT cheaters in your game, you guys always give us the same cookie-cutter response then close the discussion, like you're just straight up embarrassed that you haven't done a single thing to stop the hacking for SIX YEARS!
All you do is say "If you believe a player has been toxic in the game or suspect foul-play, you can report them to Xbox Live. You can also submit a support ticket via Rare Player Support. As this is a matter for Support and not the Forums, I'll be dropping anchor here." This is some straight up bull and you know it.
How bad are your programmers that you have to rely on XBOX and this WEBSITE for reporting, that is so SAD and so outdated. Fortnite, Overwatch, G.T.A., Call of Duty, and many other smaller/older games have in-game reporting functions, how is this not a necessity in 2023??? Especially when you KNOW the game has a problem with cheaters, you can still search FREE SoT HACKS on YouTube and get 1,000's of RECENT results with links to download in the descriptions.
I know in the recent season video, the guy talked about adding anti-cheat, but OBVIOUSLY it's still not in game yet or not working when we still see hackers in every server we join. If you can't stop the hackers at least make an IN GAME report function that goes to your STUDIO instead of to XBOX which won't do ANYTHING unless enough people also report them. Someone shouldn't have to go on a studios WEBSITE to report someone IN GAME in 2023 especially when the games been out for years, that is WHACK and no other relevant game I know of forces you to deal with that.
The best thing you could have done was open up Safer Seas for us to escape hackers since you can't deal with them yourselves, but then you cut the rewards to 30% and remove captaincy/emissaries just to force players to play with the hacking PVP trolls.
This decision was SO dumb and I'm assuming you only made it that way to make the cry-baby PVP players happy (who are most of the hackers anyways) since they were your cash cow during the Arena phase. Well those days are over, Arena didn't work out because not enough people want PVP but ya'll refuse to accept it, you just keep bending over backwards for the PVP players hoping the PVE players will someday come to PVP.
Well it ain't going to happen chief, and no amount of 'dark adventurer sails' nerfing will change that. You can't change how someone wants to play by enticing them to another mode, if they want to chill and roleplay no amount of cuts/bonuses is going to make them want to go PVP all of a sudden, especially with a rampant hacker problem, the PVE players will just leave the game when their mode doesn't get the attention it deserves from the developers.
You need to stop focusing on what the PVP players want, the DA sails announcement shows you are looking at fixing the wrong issues, stop focusing on polishing the 6 year old combat systems, and start focusing on the future. Maybe new features, new boats/sails, new areas, because just adding 'private servers' is not a big world shaking update to keep players interested - most games have had private servers for years already - and with no huge % cut either!!!!!!!!
If ya'll don't get your stuff together "Skull and Bones" is going to eat your breakfast lunch and dinner when it comes out, you have one year to fix your trash Safer Seas mode otherwise I can guarantee a large chunk of your player base will be leaving, most likely a much larger chunk than you ever realized.
You have had a 6 year head start, yet their game seems like it will have more features on release than SoT has had throughout its entire lifetime!
But you don't want our suggestions, your moderators just want to silent us, so keep siding with the PVP players and keep doing the bare minimum every season, see what happens Rare!
