Costumes for the skeleton curse

  • At the emporium we have some skeleton costumes, unfortunately they don't make bone sounds with the curse, this breaks the point of using them... But I think simply adding the bone sounds or skeleton emotes would be unfair to whoever got the curse.

Create a tab next to the customizations we already have for the skeleton, a costumes tab, these specific costumes would be placed on top of the skeleton's curse, they would have their sounds and emotes.

Only skeleton costumes should be placed in this tab.

This could be used for Rare to create specific skeleton costumes to use with the curse, and place them as an hourglass reward. Costumes that would be impossible to make piece by piece due to limitations

Interesting concept, though I still wish the Skeleton Curse let us use our normal clothing and costumes alongside it. The Ghost Curse can do that already anyway. Plus, adding a black void to the inside of the clothing I think will help solve any problems with the clothing while wearing the skeleton curse.

  • @arthur79474 In the current system, using our own clothes would bring a lot of visual bugs, hats bigger than the head, bones going through the clothes... even without the skeleton curse there are already a lot of limitations on what they can create, hoods for example would be a challenge, in costumes they work , as separate items maybe not.

In this case, they can create exclusive costumes for the skeleton curse, unique designs that cannot be made separately, with costumes they would really be able to give us the appearance of a real Skeleton Lord

  • @arthur79474 Well, I've already made some topics about this but it's worth talking about again...

The skeleton curse should not adapt to the character's body, it should be standardized like all NPCs. This would bring many benefits, so many that I see no reason not to change it or at least test it on the insider.

Standardizing the skeletons, as well as making us really look like real skeletons, with a head that matches all the skulls we find in the game, it would also make it MUCH easier to create skins for the skeleton, since the great difficulty is making designs that adapt perfectly to all bodies. Perhaps with standardized skeletons it would even be possible to wear our own clothes, since if they needed adaptation it would be for just one body type, not several.

I like the way that our body type is reflected in the skelly curse, but I might like the idea of a standardized skelly body type for the purpose of adding more customization potential even more. I’m not sure how much I really ever notice the body types of pirates wearing the skelly curse. I really enjoyed leveling the skelly curse and I have many more commendations to go. I enjoyed leveling guardians much less so far, so anything that adds to leveling the skelly curse sounds good to me. I’d also love if they made the ghost curse comparatively interesting to the skelly curse mods. I don’t have any ideas on that, but it seems like the consensus is that working the servants commendations is more rewarding than the guardians. The gold curse is super cool for both of them imo, but after 100 in guardians I haven’t really cared about those commendations, that is until one day I get the legendary curse.

More to the topic, I think the idea of combining the curses (all of them?) with emporium/ancient coin items sounds good. Just little things here and there that one could add to their curses, assuming they earned the curses originally as intended.

  • Either way I think we all agree that guardians/servants could both use some new stuff

  • I'd like to see a variation of the Reapers costume adapted to the Skeleton curse, some Servant of Flame cosmetics and some elements of Flameheart's outfit added to it. I feel like the current outfits don't make you look like a pirate or even a captain for that matter. The current ones are more akin to a grunt in the ranks of the Reapers, I'd like the option to still look like a seasoned pirate as a skeleton, it's the main reason I don't use it. The blindfold head is probably the best for fitting the pirate appearance as a skeleton.

  • @a10dr4651 If they released a pack of 7 sets inspired by the clothes that skeleton NPCs wear, it would be much better, I also stop using the skeleton curse because I feel that there is nothing very "pirate" about the designs they chose.

Well, I didn't come up with the idea, but imagine buying the Dark Warsmith costume and receiving his hat or clothes as separate parts to use with the skeleton, that would enhance the curse and the costume. Just adopting this stance of putting the emporium costume (skeleton) or parts of it to use with the skeleton's curse would help to improve skeleton cosmetics a little.
