This afternoon I did some testing.
I raised a gold hoarder emissary flag and started doing the small island x mark the spot voyages with two digs per island.
I never dove a single time.
I made sure not to interact with any other treasure other than the sailor’s chests that you get when you do the small island x mark the spot voyages.
It took me completing 13 voyages - digging up 26 sailor’s chests and harpooning them aboard the ship - to reach grade v emissary status.
The chests sold for around 1,015 gold base value x 26 chests x 2.5 emissary bonus = roughly 66,000 gold
The emissary quest you get for reaching grade v gold hoarder status consisted of 10 items 6 baron’s chests as 3 digs on 2 large islands and 4 admiral’s chests as 2 digs on 2 small islands.
The 10 chests sold for roughly 46,000 gold.
Feedback:
Nobody should have to do 13 voyages to hit grade v emissary status.
The loot variety you get from voyaging has never been lower.
With the gold hoarder x mark the spot quests you get one type of chest depending on if you choose a small or large island which is not something I prefer at all. I like some variety to my digs.
Also please consider buffing the number of digs on small islands to 3 and large islands to 5. The way it is now is super inefficient.
You could have some rng to the voyages and make it so it’s 3-6 digs per small island and 5-10 digs per large island with a 10 min cooldown before you can place another quest of the same type to prevent spamming.
Add rng to the loot that we get some old some new while maintaining a minimum target gold value for each voyage.
And then you would really have my attention and I would enjoy x marks the spot voyages a lot!
