Cashing in the burning blade ship

  • I have now tried multiple times to chase a burning blade ship with a lot of rituals done. However, they can just rush to reapers hideout and sell their ship even though I am right beside them at reapers firing canons at the ship. I think you shouldn't be able to cash in your burning blade ship if enemy ships are to close, just like when you dive to hourglass battles. It is very anticlimactic when the burning blade ship, you have been chasing for a long time, just suddenly disappears right next you at reapers without a fight.

  • @hyp0t0xic womp womp

  • I disagree. Just like how a ship is able to run to an outpost and cash in their valuable loot while being attacked, so can the burning blade run to reapers to cash in at grandpa's place.
It's a bit annoying, but that's why you gotta be quick, and sink 'em before they get there.

  • The ship is the loot. You can do the same with cashing [insert new hot treasure] just by outsailing oponents and selling it fast.

If you can't intercept it its not yours.

  • But you can take all the other loot that they left on board

  • Its the slowest ship in the game in every wind combination, and can be caught by sloops.
    Do better at stopping it?

  • I agree!
Especially since the people who do this run away from the fight, and that's a shame for an FH crew... At the same time, we're used to seeing Flame followers on the run... There's a reason they're called Reapers Runners ahahaha

  • Although annoying, I disagree that it should be prevent if other ships are nearby. With hg you at least have the option to sell at other outposts, with the burning blade you have one choice. Should you not be able to sell reapers chest if others are nearby?

I would however be in favor if you have an object ( orb / sword ) on the burning blade that you physically have to take inside reapers hideout to sell. This would allow others crews to steal it whenever they want, and then sell it.

  • @bozaandbanitza YEs but with HG you can't lower if you are currently in a battle.

An alternative solution, would be taking it to Reapers, and when you vote it down, a Fort of Fortune like alert sounds across the entire map, and a World Event cloud will randomly appear over one of the Tall Tale Portals. The Burning Blade will need to Sail through that Portal.

When they go through the portal, it will take them to an Athena's Fortune like Tavern, where the crew can turn in whatever treasure they have collected on their ship, and then turn in their ship.

If they did this the also could remove Flameheart from the top of Reaper's Hideaway, and built him a throne down in the Ritual of the Flame area in the bowels of Reaper's Hidaway.

  • @ghutar Rushing to outsail opponents allows you to sell some loot quickly before being interrupted and needing to focus on your ship. The Burning Blade ship can be sold almost instantly, and you don't have to attend to your ship because the skeletons can delay sinking for a considerable time. I believe this diminishes the competitive spirit and overall essence of the PVP experience in this exciting world event.

  • @hyp0t0xic for me same dimishivng rate have fighting same ship over and over as over couse they run with siren skull exploit.
At some moment I will be outsupplied and I have no reward in risk that is each battle.

I understand the sentiment but we are not sailing in void and we are not puting our ideas in vois too.
With persisten exploits (SoSS and lunching with fishing rod) prolonging selling or proximity block are broken idea prone to be used as grifing tool.

I think that change should be make how we vote ship down - whole crew must vote for lowering flag and BB must be in same proximity as ship when we vote down emissary flag.

  • @hyp0t0xic

there will be a looming issue here due to close backspawns if they fix this. 2 ships can ruin the turn in forever if they count as rival ship nearby preventing turning the blade in. developers are on your side though.

i think there is a duality here in that in order to stop the burning blade you have to confront them, but in order to best them on sub equal terms, you need to stay out of range and use borders to stall until skeletons are gone. galleons dont have this issue as much i think.

  • @hyp0t0xic you know you can kill the players before the vote to lower right?

  • @ghutar Looks like they added my suggested feature :D
