Kick player

  • Literally just a button that says "Vote to kick player from session"
Have had a few bad experiences with open crew and my friends needing to leave and this would make live x10 easier

  • That is the intention of muting crewmates, and voting to place them in the brig.

Being able to kick a player can start creating even worse toxic plays.

For example: Lets say you join open crew, and you are in a galleon team, so 3 other players. You sail with them for a couple hours, get a 9 stack of Fort of the Damned, and are heading in to turn in your stuff. Suddenly you are booted from the crew. Turns out the other 3 players were all in a normal playing group, and they wanted one of their friends to get all the reward... so they kicked you and invited their friend in.

Yes there are horrible people out there, and I totally understand not wanting to sail with them... but adding a Kick Feature will definitely be exploited and will be punishing for people who aren't toxic.

  • @reverend-toast worst case scenarios will always exist, but having a kick option on a captained ship would be very beneficial. How often are you going to have a 9 stack of FoTD and then kick the 4th player because you're friend is getting off, over needing to kick a 4th player because they are trolling, setting the ship on fire, and wanting to get tossed in the brig, so they can sit there and play music while you now have to run the galleon with 3 players. Sure you can hop servers, but what if you're doing stuff with loot and need to still sell and are being attacked? I've had the latter happen many times, or variations of, over ever having a massive haul and then wanting to kick someone so my friend can join. So, my idea would be to add the vote kick feature, but it can only be done while not having an emissary up and it needs to be done at an outpost. It will never truly solve the problem of people being toxic and doing as you stated, but it would be a huge relieve for open crews trying to find people wanting to actually play, rather than just having players troll crews on account of they know the worst that can happen is they"ll be brigged and then they can enjoy a free ride and possibly free loot in the long run. I feel like everything in the game is being exploited at one point or another, but the game should still focus on what makes the game better for the majority of the community. The worst the could happen is Rare finds out adding the vote kick option to captained ships is being abused horribly and then they simply take it back out of the game. I think most crews that stack forts or do voyages form a good bond with each other and personally I've only ever wanted to kick players that are trolling to an extreme extent. What are your thoughts on my idea above?

Just do not play with random players, what a problem for you? Coz in another way y be able to kick some one even without some significant reason coz you think that you r right. Random player = compromise. Another way button "kick player" can become in some toxic thing, when peoples be able to kick with no reason

    Keep closed.
Remember. What you deem “required” and good use will be used against you.

  • @dmsd7567 this issue has been brought up before amongst many other pirates ( myself included) unfortunately there’s no way to kick someone without someone coming along jus to troll you. so the best we got for now is the jail, unless rare figures something out.

  • @Dmsd7567 Everyone has their own idea about what constitutes a "bad experience". Maybe your "bad experience" meant someone joined and burnt your boat down, kept trying to sail you out of the arena in an hourglass fight, dumped all your loot over the side and just consistently tried to sabotage everything you were doing. In that case, I completely understand wanting to "kick player" and in an ideal world you would be able to kick players that do that.

But for a lot of people a "bad experience" could just mean "They tried their best but just weren't particularly competent and I wanted to sail with someone my own level." and would just keep kicking players until they found their perfect crew member. And if people are allowed to do this, a lot of players are just going to find themselves joining games and immediately getting kicked for things that they can't help (because they're noobs, because they don't speak the right language, because they don't have a headset etc.).

Basically I think adding a "kick player" option to open crew, would run the risk of making open crews elitist, and leaving new players unable to integrate into the game properly which would, in the long run, be worse for everyone.
