Rare Really Should Add the Burning Blade in Safer Seas

The person goes on to say that he did quite a bit of research and it is impossible to solo-sloop, if not people are mainly playing with others to get their hands on the Burning Blade. I for one can't really participate in the event for one, I am a solo-slooper, number two, I hate PvP let alone trying to contest a ship when it's just me, and three, part the commendations you have to be Lvl 100 with the Servants of Flame so you can use the skeleton curse. I can't be bothered with it.

So if we continue on with it, you can technically make it fully functional in Safer Seas. Reputation is capped at level 40 for all companies. There is already a 30% reduction for all loot but for Reapers (turning the BB exclusively) should be a 50% reduction just because it doubles it in High Seas, just counterbalance it. Commendations are fine the way they are. When you take control of the ship, the difficulty spikes to Galleon difficulty, so world events become harder. Skelly galleons appear now. The meg and the kraken are tougher. And so forth! Not only would you be adding this to Safer Seas, you also spark the curiosity of new players and questions will arise:

Who is Flameheart? What is this ship doing here? Why is he such a huge deal?

Just that sparks the players interest and I think would be great to add this world event into the Safer Seas. And don't come at me with the whole "there's no players in safer seas" or "it's only meant for player-contesting" and what not. Just spike up the difficulty of everything and the frequency of world events occurring to your ship.

  • Nah. Safer Seas is not allowed anything fun. They keep all that in High Seas to 'encourage' people to get on HS.

  • @necrositic Hey Pirate !

"The Burning Blade Event is supposed to force conflict between pirates that engages them in battle, since S.S has no other pirates besides yourself and possibly 3 other pirates the event is only for Higher Seas. Hopefully that explains why you can't do this event in S.S."

    Safe Journeys

Solo’s are taking down and taking over the BB. It’s not impossible, in fact taking over the BB from a PvE standpoint isn’t a whole lot different than taking down a skelly galley. There is no PvE in this game that’s difficult.

Defending the BB or taking it from other players while solo is another story. Taking it from other players is hard enough with a four man crew, doing it solo would require a really good solo and a lousy BB crew, imo.

Defending the BB, though, and even getting a streak isn’t crazy as a solo. You’ll be at an obvious disadvantage, just like with just about everything else done solo in SoT, but you can technically do it. There are uncontested BB’s out there waiting to be captured, you’re bound to get one to yourself eventually.

Everything in SoT appears to be designed with the intent of being fought over, the BB is no exception. How does one fight over the BB on SS? Also, what would be the point? You’d just be sailing around getting streaks on easy mode…

As the BB hype inevitably subsides a bit, we’re bound to see even more opportunities to take over the BB without much effort.

  • @necrositic I'm sorry but having the Burning Blade in safer seas just doesn't make sense. There is a reason the other post was just locked. There is a reason that the FoF and Fotd aren't there as well.

And yes the BB can be taken and turned in by a solo. It's way easier with more crew mates but it's not impossible.

  • As already answered in the Thread you linked to
@look-behind-you said in Rare, Please add the Burning Blade event to safer seas its borderline impossible for solo sloops to participate in this event.:

The whole premise of the Burning Blade is that is a player-contested World Event.

Having no other players on the server (in Safer Seas) means folks could simply take it over and spend hours 'farming' the reputation/rewards with very little risk which entirely defeats the event's purpose.

As such, I'll be dropping anchor here too.
