All three ship types have a great design aesthetic, but some cosmetic themes don't do enough to make the ship model feel true to what you're going for. For example, the Japanese and Chinese theme may work on a Sloop or Brigantine as they are a little more boxy, but a Galleon, the most ornate and majestic ship, is too rounded and western looking for it to mesh well.
So what if the emporium gave us new models for our ships? Same layout, same collisions, but a different model that changes the material and mesh of the decks, hull, railing & sails, as well as the shape of the cabins? The galleon even has faux-gunports that are visible only on the outside, and the Burning Blade even has faux-windows also only on the outside. These frameworks could change those appearances too!
