Gold and glory times are unfair

  • I understand that making gold should not be an easy thing in sea of thieves, but gold and glory hour should be accessible to all that can think of using it, but for certain time zones it makes it almost impossible to use those times without complication. For example I live in Western Australia and Im only able to take advantage at a reasonable time at 9 in the morning which only allows if i wake up at 7 2 hours on farming before I have to sell. I’d like to maybe propose a third time to make Gold and glory actually usable by all players who would like to take part. Or space the times further apart would help. I dont want to propose taking it away since people do use those times but it would really help new players who want to grind and seasoned who only play every now and then.

  • should just get rid of gold rush imo

they run way more events than they used to, there is way more rewards than there used to be, events go longer more often, and there is way less pvp pressure than there used to be.

People aren't going without these days so should just stick to events imo. Way too much reward in general with sot. Makes it to where less people care about being involved and brings down the exciting interactions/encounters.

  • Are you talking about gold rush?

Tbh, ignore those. I don't think many people ever think about it at all, sometimes you sell something during those times, sometimes you don't. Personally I have never tried to time anything to get a couple extra gold coins.

Agree. The community / G&G wknds are so often now that grinding outside these times can waste a lot of time, should you still be hunting emissary top tier rewards.

G'day sandgroper. So you enjoy the 8pm outages for updates on a Thursday & Friday nights too?

I think a fairer system would simply be starting your GOLD & GLORY window somewhere during a 1 week period with a special FIREWORK.
It might be a consumable given to every pirate, except with thought put into limiting abuse.

Only time I have ever sold at gold rush hour was one time when i realized that one had just started shortly after doing a little grinding, and it was pure chance i checked the time to catch it.

  • A noble sacrifice for living in the future and upside down.

  • Be nice if it could trigger based on playet's local timezones instead of globally

    Indeed.

However, this could be abused if not restricted accordingly. As in, there must be a daily cap in the amount of minutes that you can use (if we're talking about Rush), and/or something similar for G&G

Otherwise, without some sort of restriction, I could keep changing my system timezone to extend it. Even if the timezone tracking was derived from your Xbox/MS account instead of your PC/Laptop/Console, I'm sure as hell there is a way around it (to fake timezones).

  • My guild has talked for a while about doing away with the set gold and glory times, and reintroduced them ad a guild feature.

Let the guild owner or a leader set an hour once per day where ships pledged to that guild get the gold and glory multiplier. It would allow guilds across the globe to set an hour that works best for them, give guildmates another reason to sail together, and add some nice functionality to guilds in general.

  • I understand your frustration with the Gold and Glory event times, and I agree that it should be more accessible for players in different time zones. It’s tough when you're not able to take advantage of those times, and I also share your concerns about the fairness of it all. I actually suggested removing Gold and Glory altogether because it didn't seem fair for players who put in the time throughout the week to be outpaced by someone who could just hop in during a short window and earn similar rewards. While my suggestion for a limited-time flag or voyage with boosted rewards was shot down, I still think it could provide a better balance. Unfortunately, it feels like these ideas often get ignored or removed, and it’s frustrating when the community’s input doesn’t get the attention it deserves.
