Invisible player hack??

  • We were playing last night and came across two different crews, with the exact sus same behavior in hourglass that we were unable to understand or replicate.

I am curious if it was a hack or a server de-sync/exploit/connection issue. AKA is something I should keep eyes out for to report or just shrug off!

Two different players (two separate instance and crews) landed on our deck, out of what seemed like nowhere - frozen in place. We hit them, shot them, blundered them, nada. And then we started getting hit by seemingly nothing.
The pirate ran around our boat for the next 5+ minutes invisible. We all went back through our recordings and none of us could find any indication where this guy was in the direction the shots were coming from. And there were no bullets or fire animation. Just the sound.

I am by no means the greatest PVPer and I totally get that stuff happens, so if it is just me, I hear that. But I was hoping someone more knowledgeable may be able to plug me in to what's what.

Thanks in advance for any thoughts!

  • Sounds like a cheater.

  • Hope you submitted that clip to Rare!

  • @syrrahcha

Yea it sounds like you encountered a cheater or two. Invisibility has certainly popped up a few times since I started paying in March 2023.

  • @europa4033 One of our group did!

  • Another example of how "Superb" EAC is at it's job, it seems. X(
