Galleons To Be Removed From Servers With Sloops

  • I would like to suggest that rare does something about the uneven player base and removes the ability for a Galleon to be in the same server as a sloop.

This is not fun and not a fair match if you get rolled up on by a Galleon..

Automatically, this causes an unfair playing advantage for the Galleon to “win”..

There is an accommodation for the burning blade called “playing the part”

This is extremely tedious and annoying and also already in very high number of rituals to hit eight while wearing a skeleton curse. 10 times..

This is also tied to an achievement..

Three times in a row now, while, I have six rituals completed in two hours into playing session..

Randomly out of nowhere.. A Galleon of 4 people show up on the map right behind the boat, kinda like they spawn on it..

And then comes to ruin my streak..
Sometimes we have two people, but sometimes three. Never four..

Before you start to say oh, you should make sure you look at the map that’s not the point..

The point is Galleon has four players and everyone else is outnumbered..

It does not matter how good you are you are outnumbered.

Burning blade goes very slow. You can also not lower the Barney blade anymore if a ship is nearby, which the Galleon will just go and sit at.. (making it impossible for us to lower)

This is now the third time in a row it has happened to me and it makes me to not want to play this broken game..

Rare also does not care about fixing game breaking bugs.

People use glitches and exploits to gain even more of an advantage on you even though they already have a 4 v 2 player match..

They also had a lvl 1,000 yellow curse on..

I reported an infinite supply glitch along time ago, (seasons ago) to them just to get told to “go away” (basically).

Therefore, My opinion and recommendation should be a Galleon should not be able to be in the same server as a sloop.

Also, I have been playing this game since day one.

  • @its-bubba-lips There is this misunderstanding sometimes that the game should accommodate everyone, no matter the impact on the game itself and the freedom of choice.

The different types of vessels in SOT and the crew required to man them properly is based on different styles of play. Just because you prefer sloops doesn’t mean that other players should conform to your play style. Some prefer the gally's strength in numbers, others prefer the brig's speed and so on.

If you are not successful with a sloop crew, try to change tactics and go for a bigger ship.

Uneven? You have the same types of ammo as any other ship. Besides crew size, a Solo Sloop CAN take on a crew of 4 on a galleon.

This is not fun and not a fair match if you get rolled up on by a Galleon..

Its no fun being rolled up on by another Sloop Duo while your a solo, but that different story :p

There is an accommodation for the burning blade called “playing the part”

There is the Main issue with OP. It not about the Galleon, its the grind.

Randomly out of nowhere.. A Galleon of 4 people show up on the map right behind the boat, kinda like they spawn on it..

Your not watching your surroundings, and from a Guess...your solo on a BB. But the BB has the power to fight a Galleon, you need practice.

Before you start to say oh, you should make sure you look at the map that’s not the point..

THAT is the only point. Failure on your part doesnt make it uneven.

The point is Galleon has four players and everyone else is outnumbered..

Two Brig ships ally up to take on a Galleon Reaper ship. Who out numbered now? is that fair?

Rare also does not care about fixing game breaking bugs.

Where the Bug in this problem?

They also had a lvl 1,000 yellow curse on..

Matters not. Friend of mine has the curse, just from piggy backing.

Therefore, My opinion and recommendation should be a Galleon should not be able to be in the same server as a sloop.

Also, I have been playing this game since day one.

So have I and, I play Solo 9/10 of my play session, Ive captured a BB and sailed it. Explain to me what I am doing that I am not having any troubles with?
As a D1 player, you should already have a good amount of understanding how to play a Sloop and all the benefits it comes with.

If you have the Skelly curse and have played since launch, I feel you know a commendation like this is gonna be un-fun to accomplish.
And it's definitely within your skill set unless you're a loss farmer of course. LOL

Requesting that Galleons cannot spawn on a server with sloops, bearing in mind the server limits on player numbers, is highly unlikely.

I've experienced a few gold curse pirates. IME they've exclusively been teleporting salt-farmers. GLWT

FWIW, I've found most galleon crews these days to be on the noobie side, so you might still have luck on the BB with a full skelly crew.
But you may have to find a few more crew members and force it. Doing the BB with a sloop crew is always gonna be a stretch.

  • We have always found Galleons are easy to take down when using a sloop.

Getting the sloop to stay on the Galleons back side area is the best key to beating them and keep moving to avoid boarders as much as possible.

Being in a sloop is way easier to manage due to size of boat, I normally do the cannoning and mast maintaining and the driver does below deck repairs to keep the sloop a float while steering. Getting a cannon row boat helps a lot also, when safe to do so the driver can use that to cannon boats also. Works well.

While the Galleon has more players, they also have more area to cover for repairs and doing things. That a lone is a Galleon downfall.

We noticed that two nights ago.

Two of us jumped off and went to lower the flag/return the burning blade. Took another thirty minutes to sink the Galleon chasing us, well worth it once done reward wise.

Some of the battle below. Only two of us on the Burning Blade (one of our players left) and four were on the Galleon.

  • @its-bubba-lips

The BB has a crew of skeletons who will shoot cannons and repair for you…

  • @its-bubba-lips sounds like you need some friends to sail with instead of sailing solo, which by this game’s standards is “hard mode”.

  • I enjoy sinking gallys as a sloop though. It doesn't always have to be a fair fight. And to be honest whilst you have skellies still on burning blade you have the advantage. If there's a massive skill difference then sure you'll sink, I have defended against bigger ships on bb, I've also sunk and fair play to them.

Limiting what ships can interact with each other would ruin the game for larger crews (I say this as a sloop main by far so don't think I'm biased towards bigger ships).

Maybe work on efficiency and comms, if you've been uncontested for 2 hours you should be able to get the 8 streak in that time. Pre plan which camp you go to next and have ship facing that way, don't use the lift drop down the stairs spiralling is much quicker to get down there and if you have spare crewmate have them go down to rotate for you.

If you can, try to end on lagoon of whispers as its the shortest distance to reapers, keep trying and I'm sure you'll get it eventually. You could even lfg for gally crew if you want to give yourself the best chance.

  • I've been sunk more by brigs and sloops than galleons...

    Not a big issue.
