An unexpected welcome

I've been playing the game for a few days now, two days ago I got attacked for the very first time. I was taking the loot from a shipwreck to my boat when a brig showed up and started shooting me. I was missing 20k gold for my very own ship and so I started pleading, saying that they could have the chests if they wanted, I just wanted the skulls as I was farming rep with the order of souls. They sunk my ship and killed me.
When I respawned I was fairly close to it but decided to ditch and go to a nearby treasury. After I was done with it and loading my ship, they once again showed up and I just started sailing away on my sloop. Going against the wind with the help of the horn (forgot the name but you know which one I'm talking about) I managed to escape them and just rush to a nearby outpost hoping to be able to sell everything before they caught up with me.
While I was selling they showed up at the outpost but didn't shoot me this time. Turns out their captain had sent me a message on xbox (which I never have open since I don't use it) apologizing for sinking me and desperately trying to give me my loot back. They even grabbed cheats and skulls and stuff and took them gow the vendors for me to sell so I wouldn't have to keep going back to the docks.
I know not all my interactions will be like this, it's part of the game after all, but that's an interaction I'll never forget
