Why can’t I play high seas without a game pass subscription

The important question is do you own a paid copy, or the free version? Because if you own the free version that basically just gives you access to exclusively safe seas since that is not actually the main game, and a paid copy offers the full game the same as game pass.

If you have a paid copy of the game you have to reach out to the games tech support to get that fixed, if you have the free copy of the game, then you have to either buy a copy or get the subscription.

Double check your Core subscription hasn't actually lapsed. If you believe it's still active, then try some other online games to test.

If it's only SOT that's a problem contact Rare Support. If other games are affected, contact Microsoft Support.

The OP says they have Game Pass Core which includes online multiplayer. It's effectively the new Xbox Live Gold but with some games, from what I can tell.

Are you talking about the simple xbox live subscription? Or gamepass, cause if they made gamepass actually part of live then thats cool, but unless they changed it from how it was last time i ever used an xbox, a live subscription was just the ability to play online, not also game pass. But its been years since i used an xbox.
