How to make the Chroniclers in the PvP Hideouts useful.

  • When Hourglass was added the new hideouts came with NPC chroniclers who supposedly tracked whichever side was gaining the upper hand in the war. These NPCs would have dialogue basically saying "Our side is winning/losing" or "both sides are tied." However, they now seem to default to the "tied" dialogue, which is somewhat disappointing because not only does it mean there's no way to know which side seems to be doing better in the war, but it also implies that Rare might not care about the battle between the two factions affecting the world in any way. I'd like for there to be consequences for one side winning or losing.

Here's my idea: the losing side gets increased allegiance for reaching a champion streak, because they've regained some ground in the war. The winning side will instead get increased gold as a reward for pressing their advantage. This is just the first idea that came to mind, so feel free to add anything you feel might make people more interested in which side is winning or losing.

  • I would love for there to be an alternate Arena style gamemode like HG but there’s Guardian NPC ships and Reaper NPC ships duking it out and you get to pick a side and depending on your faction, grade and ships sunk/kills you should get upgrades for winning like boosted gold or xp for each.

  • Rare could add an option to choose a side in the hourglass, with this choice lasting a season, at the end of the season the winning side wins a prize in gold, doubloons and maybe ancient coins... or they could make a large set of exclusive skins, when winning a season you randomly receive one of these prizes.

Similar to how faction mechanics work in For Honor(Ubisoft)

  • However, they now seem to default to the "tied" dialogue

    Maybe it true?

  • I think they had a plan for these guys, but due to the popularity of Hourglass plummeting I don't think they are going to move forward with it. They need to fix the issues with Hourglass first.
