Peter Pan, Captain Hook tall tale suggestion

    I know the dev guys keep their cards close to the chest when it comes to future projects, yet one day I would like to see a tall tale crossover with Neverland. We haven't had a tall tale season since Monkey Island.

    Peter Pan is a classic and introducing characters like Captain Hook or Smee to the game seems apropos. Now that we have more wildlife and environment changes; a tale in the lines of rescuing Peter Pan and the lost boys from Captain Hook in order to save the merfolk in that area with their help would be fun.

    Although I would love to see more crossovers and think Peter Pan would be a great idea. I think if we get Tall Tales in the future, they should be Sea of Thieves Tall Tales. I’d rather them tell their own story with their own characters, rather rely on another IP.

    I say this every time I notice a thread on this topic and I still stand by it.

    If it happens I think it should be either licensed to be a tall tale for the movie Hook or inspired by it.

    Reasons.

    Peter pan has 2 main fan groups. The original and people that grew up with Hook and/or the one made in the early 2000s.

    The original is more of an idea with quite a bit of offensive or insensitive ways of going about the story.

    The later movies did a much better job of capturing the heart and adventure of the idea without the insensitive/offensive parts.

    Many people see Hook how some of the devs saw Monkey Island when they were inspired to create SoT and add the story later on.

    Hook had the best version of Captain Hook

    There is a group of people in SoT that are around the same age, that grew up with similar interests, and that share a lot of the same nostalgia that would very much get into that. In a way that goes beyond just bringing in the idea to SoT.

    Maybe we are due for another TT? Summer possible.

    Seriously though I’m all for a neverland tall tale series. I agree with @WolfManbush that it should be centered more on how hook did Peter pan and neverland.
    This is probably a stupid idea but I remember watching jake and the neverland pirates and I think it would be fun to incorporate some of that.
    Of course rare would have to get another contract with Disney to do any of this, unless they base it purely off the books. But the books are enough to get sot a mature rating so all of this is very iffy.

    Many believe Capt'n to be Captain Hook.
    Rumour has it that a sequel to a Pirate's Life is planned, so who knows...

    For me the only crossover that makes sense at moment is a Pirate's Life 2 to close the arcs that started, Monkey Island was cool but it didn't advance practically anything in the game's main story, while the PTOC adventure changed the game in a way as profound as the year 1 anniversary update. And considering the rumors about a Pirates of the Caribbean reboot, I think they need to release that before the next movie, or it will be kind of pointless.

    After continuing what was started there and what is happening now in SOT, I think only then will we be able to have something different like Peter Pan.

    Captain Hook is mentioned in the book The Price of Freedom from Pirates of the Caribbean, despite being more of a reference than something canonical, the quote is enough to be able to use it by mixing both in a single crossover.

    I hope not, Capt'n is described as a skeleton lord, there is a lot of potential in him to become an original character as interesting as flameheart, tying him to another IP would be kind of disappointing.

    @lleorb I REALLY hope that they finish the arc and we find out who the captain is, and I also really hope that he isn't Hook or an established character.
