  • Hit a boarder at least 3 times with blunderbuss and a snipe WHILE HE WAS STILL ON THE LADDER.

Didn't eat food, yet he was still alive.

I'm either smelling hacks or a still existing bug.

Not to mention the servers kicking me every 20 seconds...

If you can't tell, I'm pretty frustrated because this stupid things lost me an hourglass battle and what was going to be a two streak.

  • This all sounds exaggerated due to your frustration. Did you get hit markers each time? Feels like more likely a bit of lag and they are juking you on ladder where they drop and recatch. So you lost a one streak...

  • @hiradc

Every shot had a hit marker and even crewmate was shooting and he still didn't die.

    They didn't juke either.

And this post was more of a frustrated rant. No exaggeration.

And don't start in with the "oh it was just one loss" thing.

I don't get a lot of time to pull the kinds of stuff you guys pull out of your magical wizard hats, and that fight was a huge waste of my time.

  • Hit a boarder at least 3 times with blunderbuss

its not a killer weapon, but even if knocked off one can still grab/release quickly.

I'm either smelling hacks or a still existing bug.

    Hit Reg maybe.

I'm pretty frustrated because this stupid things lost me an hourglass battle and what was going to be a two streak.

But how is the 99% of the rest of the game??

  • @burnbacon

Again, they didn't ladder juke :/

And also, the "99% of the rest of the game" is fine thanks for asking :|

  • And the disconnect every 20 seconds isn't also an exaggeration? Because I wouldn't play any game that this happened to me. Ive had one dc in last month or so when I had a weird struggling server and tried to dive to a new one. And I do hourglass everyday pretty much
Don't get me wrong, game is far from perfect but the extremes youre mentioning certainly aren't common.

  • Turn your server authoritative hit marker settings on and you’ll instantly see the difference if you’re actually hitting the player or not.

  • hit registration is wild, it's true. Honestly when I'm playing, (server-side markers aside), just assume every shot doesn't register, until someone actually dies. And always pre-eat because shots will not reg when you expect them to.

  • @hiradc

I was trying to join a guildmate and I was able to stay in for somewhere around that long, maybe less.

  • @tesiccl

    They are on :/

  • @unleet1

Yeah seems like a problem they been dancing around for a while now.

    @unleet1

Yeah seems like a problem they been dancing around for a while now.

I wouldn't say they've danced around it at all. They've acknowledged the frustrations of hit reg for years. The issue is that it's clearly not something that is in the cards for consistency.

Some things just don't get much better no matter how much time they put into it and damage/register consistency just isn't one of those things.

The bad news is that players are never really gonna be in a situation where they can count on SoT performance all the time.

The good news is that it's an adventure game so there are a lot of different ways to approach "winning". Gives more wiggle room for success.

Still frustrating for some/many but having multiple ways to approach scenarios does help overall.

One of the reasons I am so ineffective at higher levels in tdm style fighting is because I figured out very early on that I was never gonna be able to truly count on it counting when I needed it to. That's why I worked on everything around it instead.

Then I just never spent any time fighting against what I couldn't count on and went all in on what I could count on more.

The pvp in this game gets a lot less frustrating when putting all the focus on what is possible, rather than what isn't reliable and what is "broken". Easier said than done in HG because it's a fomo nightmare but it still helps.

  • @wolfmanbush

By danced around I mean they’ve been working on it for a while.

Should’ve picked my word choice better.

Something that has been far too normalized (Imo) is "the rant".

It happens at every section and stage of the feedback/social/content environment in SoT and it has become ultra counter-productive over time.

Everyone has gotta express themselves sometimes and communicate regularly to not keep things bottled up but what that has turned into in SoT is daily ranting which only has people getting in their own way.

It gets to a point where people are going off about the game before they even log in, which is very common with content creation and in feedback sections.

It ends up with people getting themselves dismissed at a feedback level, and people just start tuning out at a content level.

I've watched people burn themselves out for years and a lot of the time it's not necessary. Getting caught up in the rant mindset, that turns into burning out and getting tuned out, then quitting, isn't something that people have to do to "fight problems in the game".

Eventually this is gonna burn you out, like it has to many before you. Doesn't need to tho. Prioritize finding fun, abandon fomo, let pvp ego sink in the sea, always look forward and not for something to blame (including self) and it works out alright.

I don't fight like I used to, I don't spend as much time in fights as I used to. I'm pickier about what kind of fights I invest in. I avoid contrived combat/commendations if it's not fun or designed well for organic play. I stopped chasing everything and now I just do some things. It was all necessary so that I could continue my adventures in a healthy way.

  • @xdragonman15558 then that’s a case of not enough pellets from the blunderbuss hitting your target to bring their health down enough.

  • @tesiccl

Me and crewmate hit them from no more than 3 or 4 feet away (in game of course) but they still didn’t die.

You know that spot right next to the cannonball barrel where you can jump and hit the boarder? That’s where I was. Crewmate was top deck where the wheel was and was shooting too.

  • @xdragonman15558 hmmm fascinating then…

  • I have a 7800X3D, 4070ti SUPER 64GB RAM 2TB SSD liquid cooled system. Sea of Thieves runs badly for a game where you need to aim at such skinny character models that are twitching stuttering teleporting etc.

I really don’t wanna give up on playing solely because the hardcore gamer in me hates the inconsistencies, it ruins the integrity of the gameplay imo.

  • @boneyardx0 same isusuess.

Game interface lag heavly on wheeel where we choose cannoballs, planks and stuff.

    Making it unplayble for me.

  • @ghutar Yeah on top of the lag, stutters, teleporting, eaten inputs, now we lag in barrels and storage crates and drop to 20fps near any islands.

When my PC comes back from RMA#2 I’m praying SoT runs as good as it appears to run for everyone else. If not I might take a break til there’s considerable changes to the server stability. It’s becoming more buggy than working.
