    So when we play do we have to use gamertags or can we have our own in-game names?

    You will be using your Gamertag. That is how it is at the moment, at least.

    Currently ye use your gamer tag you land lubber but that may change in the future. If it do ye might find yourself calling me StickyBeard the great and feared

    I'm hoping it does change to custom names rather than gamertags. Monster Hunter World allows us to name our character. I recently played the Dragon Ball FighterZ beta and even that has a hub in which you can name your character and thats what everyone else sees in the lobby.

    It'll add so much more to the world for me rather that seeing XxXn0sCOP3XxX boarding my ship.

    In those games mentioned above you can still access their profile through the new name and see the players gamertag.
