  • @zz-wipeout-zz Ahoy there! - unfortunately there is not, however, once you have installed the game via the store though it will be available to you in the start menu. You can then choose to pin it there, the taskbar or the desktop. You will not need to keep launching it via the store.

:( thats quite disappointing, guess ill just have to live with it lol. thanks for the quick response :)

  • @zz-wipeout-zz No worries :D Glad I could point you in the right direction.

  • @musicmee if I buy from amazon, will I still be able to play on pc? If so where will I download it tomorrow?

  • @dark-shadow9056 If you got from Amazon you will have had to get the digital version (you had 3 choices) but they will have emailed you a code for the Black Dog pack, if you redeem that your Windows Store should automatically download the Sea of Thieves client soon.

  • @musicmee ahh.. thank you,

  • Getting a game through the Microsoft Store isn't like getting it through Steam or Origin or the like (meaning you have to run the game via the hub client). Games (via Microsoft Store) are stand-alone games/apps and have no further dependency on the MS store to be able to run, and like previously mentioned, are found via the Start menu.

Of course many (if not all) MS Store games are associated with your MS/Xbox account, but that's not the same as being integrated with the game-hub itself.

  • @void-presence I'm not sure if this also applies to sea of thieves, since the game login might be managed by the store. I don't blame Rare, it's Microsoft policy to force "Store" usage.

  • @cpt-erebos

@Void-Presence is correct, the game has no real ties to the store once it has been installed other than updates.

  • @cpt-erebos No MS Store game I know of requires you to run it from the store. Take MS's Solitaire or Minesweeper; both use your MS account to login, which you do via the game itself, but neither launch from the MS Store.

  • @void-presence good to know, maybe I uninstall Store again, if it still works without.

  • @void-presence @Cpt-Erebos @zZ-Wipeout-Zz

Once you have installed the game you will get a tile in your Start Menu, you will be able to launch it from there like any other game or program.

You will need the store to update the game though.

  • @cpt-erebos Why uninstall MS Store? It is not required to be running during SoT and it will probably be required for updates. Plus, I'm not entirely sure it CAN be uninstalled--not to mention the other games you may want in the future that will be via the MS Store.

  • @void-presence I just don't like Programms, which run in background all the time.
    Store can be uninstalled: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yWaDfHwdwQM

  • @cpt-erebos MS Store doesn't run in the background (after you close it of course). I've even checked with Microsoft's own games that came from the store.
