Different ship sizes

  • I love sea of thieves have been recommending it to almost everyone I know (who play Xbox or Pc). Unfortunately, I'm kinda bummed that I can only play with 3 of my buddies at a time. I'm also kinda bummed that there isn't the option of sailing as a group of 3 without some random jumping in and being troublesome. So here's an idea I had:

    Schooner: 1-2 people
    Sloop: 3 people
    Galleon: 4-6 people
    Man-of-war: 8 people

The sloop would only be barely larger than the Schooner with a total of four cannons. It would be faster in a straight line, but less maneuverable. Would only have the top deck and lower deck like a schooner.

The Man-of-war would have four decks (including top deck) and would have a row of cannons on the second deck as well as the top deck. It would be just a little faster than the galleon in a straight line, but incredibly had to maneuver quickly with a very large turn radius. The capstan would have six handles, requiring six people to hoist it at full speed. And of course, there would be more sails to manage, making sure there weren't too many idle hands. It would be at the top of the food chain in combat, dealing incredible damage in with a successful broadside, but being so unwieldy would make it easy to out-maneuver in a smaller vessel.

Let me know your thoughts on this.
