Respawn, sabotage, and avoid sharks

    I think the first idea already appeared here, when a boat is sunk, as soon as the mermaid appears, any death respawn should be on the new island with the new boat, and not at the mermaid.
    Why ? Imagine a solo or duo sinking a 4-man galleon with some chests inside. Those chests should be the reward, but for now it's very difficult to get them and not being killed by 4 pirates always respawning at the mermaid and getting into your boat.

    Another idea, we should have a way to make a hole in an enemy boat with tools, from the inside (sabotage). This could be useful after a sneak attack, or even after you boat sunk and you survived enought to get on the ennemy boat.

    And last idea, let us ride on a floating chest or barrel to avoid shark attacks. We will not be able to move on them but at least maybe we can wait for friends to come up for us and the loot. Possible scenario for this : after a battle between two boats, both are sunk (maybe one by cannonballs, the other one by sabotage), and you are alone in the sea with plenty of chests. You will wait here for friends respawning on a new boat, and guiding them from your location if you see them far away. It's impossible to wait like this for now wihtout a way to avoid shark attacks.

  • Now that you mention this, the one annoying thing about being sunk and killed, is being killed by sharks at the mermaid. I've honestly never dealt with many spawn deaths from players, but those gnarly sharks just love to come in a swarm of about six and kill us in the matter of seconds.

    My stubborn crew wanted to sabotage our ten chests , and after two hours, literally two hours of killing the other four man in the water, sharks occassioanly helping, getting our chests on land, having one man bring our ship back alone, and escaping with all our chests.

  • @scheefinator It's not a tool, you have to carry the boom boom barrel with you !

    We should be able to do this with a tool always available on you (action that take some time, and make some noise).

  • @falk-van-cleef I'm just saying that we should have an opportunity to damage an enemy boat from inside even if we don't have a boom boom barrel !

  • Yes but why do you need this? We have gun powder exactly for that job. Having a tool for this makes gun powder quit useless, and than the job to sink a ship is quiet easy than.

    I don't like the idea of a tool to damage ships so easy.

  • @falk-van-cleef this shouldn't be easy. Like maybe 10~20 seconds and some noise to make only one hole with the tool.

  • The could make the boarding axe as melee weapon do this.

    Please .. it's not VERY difficult, it's just a difficult. I have played with a mate on sloop we were 2 and we sank galleon + sloop, there were 6 peoples who just respawning and focusing us non stop because we were the last ship alive (attack from water, people on island fire with cannons, respawn with their ship and come back etc). Fight during 1h30+, finally we got all chests and selled them. You can do it solo too, just wait good respawn timings, play safe and let shark help you !

    Yeah a tool with a good price should be cool too, because not everytime you can have explode barrils

    Technically you can already do this. The gunpowder barrel servers this function. You might have to sacrifice yourself to do it but setting one of these off in a Galleon is pretty crippling. Setting one off on a Sloop is basically game over for the sloop as it's blast usually knocks everyone off the ship.

    As you have probably seen with eveything in this game, extected start phases, all things are long and take time, 1h30+ of fight is nothing and i can assure you you won't see time pass ^^. But yeah, we probably don't have same difficulty interpration I'm quite often aboard ennemy boat 1v4 ^^
