Alt + TAB = Disconnect. (Background apps activated)

    I am hoping this was a beta issue but I thought I would bring it up none the less.

    As soon as I Alt Tabbed I was disconnected. I checked reddit and found that I need to activate Background Apps, phew, an easy solution I thought, but when I checked that setting it was already activated and the Sea of Thieves app was enabled too.

    This forced me to run windowed mode which I really dislike. I play on a laptop sitting in my sofa so I dont and cant really in a smooth way run a secondary screen, also I dont own an extra screen. Being able to tab out every now and then to check up on stuff or communicate with friends (all my friends are via other communication portals, noone uses xbox game feature -.-) is fairly central to the game.

    Anyone know what could have been the problem or if I am likely to have to settle for windowed mode?

    Had this issue two weeks ago. Solved itself somehow. I didn't change anything and a couple of hours later, I could Alt-Tab again without the game crashing.

    @personalc0ffee Yeah but using Alt+Enter every single time is something Im gonna forget to do and its gonna cause lots of disconnects, so thought it better to bring up that there is an issue.

    @personalc0ffee I can get used to playing with the keyboard upside down as well, does it mean its the right way to go? Dear god what is it with peoples arguments for things in this community.

    The game is just weird in the way it works. When you exit to desktop, it just freezes, so I have to either ALT-F4 or CTRL-ALT-DELETE, which is just the wrong way to exit a program.

    It's also a real pain to constantly ALT-TAB to the XBOX app, but if that disconnects you, that's just bad. I've also tried using two monitors, but every time the mouse wouldn't lock to Sea of Thieves and would just move to the other screen and then minimise SoT.

    It only is a problem if in fullscreen, i had to go to window mode to tab out

    How dose one, accept game invites on the pc?

    @fresherfoot You need the xbox app downloaded and add friends through that. Invite then also come through that

    @giantmelon3 I do have the app and i start game through it, but when i get an invite it dosent show, so i have to just join session, also the app gets bugged to where i have to refresh the page over and over tell it connects again @GiantMelon3

    @fresherfoot By you have the app are you on about the Xbox Insider Hub app or the Xbox app?

    @fresherfoot You should also see invites come up through your notifications, have you tried inviting or being invited using 1 at the lobby page? It can be a little funky, but is easier than using the app, I find.

    This issue currently persists by the way, as soon as I tab out from fullscreen I get disconnected.
