Sea of Thieves Map and Animal Info - Requesting Community Help!

Animal spawns are still randomly though, spent almost 3 hours looking for a black plumed chicken yesterday, and I kept sailing between 3 islands that I knew had chickens because I've had chickens from them before...

Sometimes there'd be pigs but no chickens, sometimes chickens with now pigs but no black ones, and other times there'd be nothing at all.....I eventually found a black plumed chicken on one of the islands.

I think that's proof enough that the animal spawns are random

The Animals Themselves can be Random. But the Location that they can Spawn are not.

So if an Island has Pigs and Chickens marked on it, when you go, you have a chance for Pigs and Chickens, but One or Both of them can be up, and it's random on the Colors they are. We've had it were the White Chickens were no were to be found for a few days, but we stocked up on Black/Gold/Red when we were there, so we had them.

    @aspr7n Ahoy there!

Island locations ARE fixed and do not change per server or randomly. They have however over the course of development moved a few times while the map has grown and developed over time.

Thank you for confirming, I was starting to think i was crazy.

The islands are fixed but a few have been moved over time. Marauders Arch used to be nearer the bottom of the map and is now situated in a more northerly positions and new islands have been added. From the screenshots in this thread it does seem to appear that Devils Ridge has been moved too. It used to be the most southerly island, underneath Ancient Spire and it seems to have been turned slightly on its axis.

Thank you for the 100% proof that they are not Random!

So basically you might aswell put on your spreadsheet that every single island can either have pigs or chickens or both or none on them, because that's exactly how it is, which, in other words my friend.....is called random 😂

  • Well apart from forts or keeps lol

  • @daphonic This is an amazing idea!
I will be happy to help when the game releases.

No we've found islands that just have Pigs, and just have Chickens. But the Big Islands have both, the Real fun thing is the Snakes, as only a couple islands have them.

Would be much appreciated it. Need the Gold Hoarder Maps, with out Sun/Lantern light on them, so they are easy to see, less X's the better, but with more screenshots i can Photoshop them to be perfect. I will start adding Markings for the Landmarks on Islands sooner or later.

  • Not sure if you've seen, but someone made an interactive map that pinpoints a lot of info: http://maps.seaofthieves.rarethief.com

  • The internet has ruined all open world games with puzzles and tricks lol. All anyone does anymore is turn every game in to a damage per second, spread sheet how to quests, and mathematical equation.
I miss the old days when people had to actually explore or do for themselves or God forbid ask in game for help and build a community. I hope this game is all complete random spawn and keeps randomly changing maps, treasures and island location.
Im not pooping on your idea OP i just miss organic real world fun inside a fake world and the community it builds.

I was the guy with Grid Paper, mapping out Might and Magic games... Those were the gold old days, paper, pencil, and an Eraser. Now I have Spreadsheets.

I did see this, But I plan on doing something a bit more for mine, once I'm done.

  • never seen a snake during the whole final beta! i'm an unlucky person i guess.

  • Not sure this will work as it appears to be random.

  • Could work alongside the team or individual behind this!?!

  • @daphonic
Not the hero most of us deserved, but the one we need and appreciate!

    Just posted that above lol

  • @daphonic The spawning is random from what I can tell. You can go ahead and make a bunch of pinpoints but in the end you'll have both chickens and pigs(and snakes on release) marked for every island. A good idea but sadly futile.

  • @aspr7n Snakes weren't implemented in the final beta. They're saving that for release!

    • grabs popcorn * So is it random or not :) Doesn't look like you guys have come to an agreement :P

I have my own goals, I want something a bit easier to use, exp the maps that show were the land marks are, I'll be using pictures, with a line to point where on the island it is. So you can see all land marks around the map, with the lines to where they are.

  • The animals spawn at random, making it really hard.

I must say F*S can Chicken Isle please have some bloody chickens please!! LOL

  • @xCALYPT0x
There are probably spawn points for every animal on every island, but which are active, how many, how often in what sequence etc they spawn we don't know.
OP seems to think that the animals are in fixed locations, but numerous others including myself have stated otherwise.
It would be too 'lazy' of Rare to have put specific animals on specific islands. They would know that people (like the OP) would make maps & basically render the whole of the Merchant Alliance missions pointless, which it would be if you can just bring up a map of animal locations!
