Is the "Sea of Thieves" with the wording icon supposed to download? Or is the "SoT White Skull" icon/version supposed to download?
I'm downloading of what looks like the "cover art" version, with the white skull one under it not even having an option to download it, but I AM downloading Sea of Thieves apparently...
This is in the Microsoft Store. Is everything okay?

I had two files on my Xbox... the final beta and the pre-order...
I honestly don't have either one of those icons... Mine is black with skull island logo...
Yes, I'm on the PC with the PC version. Maybe that could be it? Does the store share the same things with PC and XBox users?

I have that too. If you click any of the Sea of Thieves icons in your Game library, they will all show this one leading to almost the same page. I'm downloading the icon in my Game Library that doesnt have a skull; just says "Sea of Thieves". I do have a white skull icon below it, with no download option.

My version says pre-orderd (or I own this product)... when I check xbox.com.
Says I own it too. Notice below it on xbox.com where it says, "In this bundle"? That icon right there, with the SoT wording, is the one im downloading. This may be exclusively a PC thing, and I may have nothing to worry about.
@pocket-fox-au MSFT never gives anything away, and the store drm doesn't make mistakes. There is logic behind this. You probably won't have rights when it launches if they didn't get your payment. It's happened before.
So I attempted to launch and received a screen 'when you refunded this product it was removed from your device'
So my license is gone, but Windows Store still decided to install and update the game O_O
Eh, luckily my monthly quota is 500gb so 20gb of something I don't own being installed isn't an issue.
I sorta half feel like buying the game now, was this your plan all along Microsoft?

It seems that "White Skull" is the bundle of the game and it include the game "Sea of Thieves".
Just like if you look at the Forza Horizon 3 in the store you will see three different bundle(stantard,delux...) and each bundle include the game itself and the extra content.
It is strange because sea of thieves only have one bundle and it just called Sea of Thieves...
After you purchase the bundle and download it, you will get the game(wording icon),the bundle itself is just a representative of what version you bought.
It's caused by how the store functions on the backend, specifically how they enable the Play Anywhere feature. It's been a while since I had any involvement in submissions to MS, but it's likely two products within the bundle, one being the X1 client, the other being PC. Depending on the platform you're on you see one or the other, though they appear identical.
@scoobywrx555 I'm talking about a dedicated launch icon, all that does is create a shortcut, it's got that big shortcut symbol cutout covering half the icon. which doesn't look that good.
@mad-mordechai It's only a small arrow in the corner but you're right. I'm happy with the metro screen. Do any win10 apps make a desktop icon only 3rd party programs seem to?
@scoobywrx555 They don't seem to usually, only gives you the option to pin to start from what I've seen.
