Will PC players be able to keymap a controller, or have to use keyboard & mouse?
PC Controller?
@parley-pete here is a previous discussion.
What controller were you planning on using out of curiosity?
@parley-pete PC controller will pretty much set itself up with your basics (Movement, actions, menu, etc.), but you can customize it in the game options menu before you get into a server.
I use one that looks like a PS4 controller but has the button ID's of Xbox (interesting to say the least, but I got used to it quite fast)
@cardshark-360 I brought the sea of thieves controller works real good on my pc and its built in Bluetooth so its wireless winning all round
One thing that PC gamers are afraid to admit is that Keyboards suck and a stick is better for movement (I am PCMASTERRACE and I approve of this FACT). You have greater control over the movement of your toon using controller than keyboard. The whole argument that m&kb will destory controller is a bunch of nonsense really.
If you use a PS move navigation controller with a mouse then you are in god mode territory.
I generally side with m/kb, but this game really does play well on controller. I did not feel hindered by it in combat as I performed very well, so I think I'll stick with controller on this one. To answer your question though, I do believe I saw an option to change button layout so you should be good to go.
Sea you guys out there!
@cardshark-360 You did not ask me, but I gonna answer your question anyway: I used a PS4 controller I bougth for Rocket League. Worked well :D
I got Xbox One when it first came out and both of my controllers broke on me and I got them replaced under warranty, only for both of them to break again. Even my charging cable broke too. Xbox has the worst controllers. They're comfortable, but not reliable. Wonder if anyone else had those kind of issues. One of my buttons would just occasionally not work while playing. Nevertheless, I gave up on console gaming after buying the Xbox One. Wont ever return. A keyboard and mouse are not only easier to use, but cheaper, and far more reliable overall. They're almost indestructible.
@Trenix90 I've never had xbox controllers break on me. The nearest I got was when a 360 controller got dropped on the floor. It landed on the RB button and sank it into the controller. A quick easy fix corrected it and it worked for years.

Maybe I'm just extremely unlucky. I just recently went through 4 monitors where the first 3 had dead pixels. The 4th one finally worked and hopefully it will stay that way. I just think technology nowadays has became unreliable in general.
@Trenix90 I agree the quality of stuff has decreased, but its bad luck with so much going wrong. Did you get the monitors changed under warranty?
@cardshark-360 Personally I'm hoping that I can map one of the paddles on an Xbox Elite controller to either left or right DPad and then map that to Push-To-Talk... would give me seamless access to voice chat without exposing everyone to environmental noise.

The controllers of THIS generation suck, PS4 or XOne.
I broke already two PS4 controllers, I broke one XBox One Elite (luckily on warranty), while I still have my original XBox 360 one working fine...and it survived some Dark Souls titles, I can use it as hammer for nails and it will survive me. Mouses indestructible?, haha, I break one each six months, the left click or the scroll wheel (as it's used as melee button usually)
Your problem with buttons in XBox One is dirtiness in the inner parts of the button, take a cotton ball with alcohol and press the button with it, the alcohol will clean the dirtiness and the button will move again up and down.
FWIWE, we played the final beta using ds4windows and dual shock 4 controllers. They were perfect. The only feature I'd like to see added was an option for ds4 button labelling. Most steam games either have it or theres a mod for it. since we can't mod this game, we have to hope for developer support.
(We have xbox controllers, but prefer the size and feel of the ds4 controllers.)
@oo-kiwibeard-oo Nope, just gave them back. They should know better than to give me dead pixels on arrival when I spent way over $400+ for a monitor.
