Okay really. How do you expect someone to do these forts when every other skeleton has a gun and can kill you while your running. also when you do the sword charge fix that s**t when it frezzes your character for like 2 seconds because as soon as i do that its basically a death trap. maybe you shouldnt have waited to test all these new skeletons on launch day.
Skull Forts
@ted-cuevas-1997 that means you missed. Time it better and you regain your composure immediately.
Never stop moving. You stop, you die. Turn, backpedal, fire, turn and run again.
@nekrosorken idk about you but im already gold horders 15 and the others at like 10 so getting good isnt a probblem
Forts are incredibly easy if you know what you're doing. Step 1) Pull ship on shore so cannons have range on island.
step 2)Lure waves out and kill 5-10 skeles at a time.
Rinse and repeat.Tips and tricks: The skeletons covered in gold rust and slow down when exposed to water, not only are they slowed alot but you can melee them with sword to kill them.
Ghost skeletons can be killed during day or at night by raising lantern on them to expose them, this will lead to an animation that temporarily stuns them.@ted-cuevas-1997 the game does tell you playing solo is the most difficult. But most community driven games work that way. Having a crew in a pirate based game would seem like the advantage, wouldn't it?
@ted-cuevas-1997 Done 5 forts so far (2 with a galleon crew and 3 with a sloop crew), attacked by other players at least 3 of those times. They really aren't that difficult if you take advantage of kiting, sword lunging, the ammo crates and banana barrels, and even gunpowder barrels. At one point we were able to gather the skellies outside the fort en mass and wiped them out using our ships cannons.
This is definitely a thread that warrants a "git gud" response.
The forts are shown in the sky because they are a community event. I don't think the design idea is to make them scale to the number of players.
How could it even scale, since it's not a quest that is triggered by one crew? I tried one last night with a friend and we got destroyed. My feeling was we needed to get better or get more people.
@ted-cuevas-1997 People solo the forts already. I took out a fort solo today. You need to train more dude.
@chazzyau They are hella fun right??
I was doing one with a friend and we working it for a while. I was down to no bannanas and one bullet. My buddy was being chesed by a mob of skull heads. the boss was chasing me and i was kiting him with my sword
he has 4 guys with him
I shoot my last bullet and head shot him for the kill... it was awesome lolHow do people even have issues with these? Once you figure out each skulls weakness it becomes very easy.
All I can say is find an ammo box and be around that area. I blunderbuss a lot. Take a shot and turn and run away, reload, run a little bit then turn and shoot a group again. Rinse and repeat.
When you run out of ammo, run to the ammo box and refill and keep on the move. Abuse the weaknesses of the skulls. Like for instance the gold armored ones are weak and easier to kill when they get wet. So bait a group into the water and take shots and slash hits from behind. I usually place an explosive barrel in the water and bait them all and explode it. Instant kill on everything.
As for the sword lunge, it means you missed if you are stunned. If you actually connect with it you won't be stunned and can move immediately. Since it's a powerful move, that's the cost for missing with it. Make sure you are able to connect with it when you do it.
First time me and my crew did one it was tough b/c we didn't understand the weaknesses to the skulls. Now that we know all of them it takes us like 15 mins to clear one.
