When your ship sinks...

  • When your ship sinks it should get transported to another server. and your ships supplies float up. After that when you die or use the mermaid you get transported to the ship at its new home.

After all to the crew that just sank and murdered you, you are dead and gone.

This has been suggested by other poster and I will always support this idea.

  • @ssg-felony Good idea, also been thinking about this. because no one can realy win a battle.
Its an eternal spawn and kill in infinity, until someone gets bored and leaves. this would make it actually possible to cash in your treasures if u win a battle.

Or maybe you get 3 chances then server change

  • This has been suggested many times, and every time I have to disagree, players should get the chance for a rematch, but at the cost of being placed at least 10 grid squares away from where they sank.

How do you ever expect to form any real rivalries between crews if you only kill them once and never see them again...

  • Nah, then I wouldn't be able to exact revenge on the Galleons that just attacked me and killed my pigs. I prefer just spawning 3 or so islands away instead of just 1 so it takes longer to get to that area. Or what @iZni said and give me 3 chances before I'm switched. I need my revenge mechanic.

Honestly either way would be cool. Attacking a fort and using a lot of resources to down a ship only to have them return with replenished resources is a bit lame. Maybe having them spawn across the map is a bit of a better solution.

It's going to be interesting to see what kinda of changes will be implemented.

  • In my opinion when you lose your ship you should spawn further away AND you should also carry all your planks, cannonballs and bananas from the beach to the ship first.

  • I think you should have to wipe their entire crew and sink their ship.

Increase respawn times ever so slightly. Basically if all 4 crew members are dead at the same time, and their ship is sunk, they get put on another server.

  • @sirferret6 Yeah if not server change, after a few times, at least spawn further and further away each time u die, because now its way to near.
Its like useless to kill the other crew, they will be right back before u can do anything.
Its like ur actually penalised for winning, they other crew just come back fresh restocked.

Really likes the idea of the raids, but need some changes.

  • The ship respawn system really needs to change. This game is NOT Skull and Bones, it is NOT about constant fighting between the same ships.

Sea of Thieves was designed and marketed not as a ship v ship deathmatch game. And with the current respawn system... it kinda is...

  • I think the reason be, if ye have to jump to another sea ye must endure another wait while the loading takes place. t'would be mighty annoying if ye be surprised by pirates and yer ship be sent to Davy Jones 'n then endure the loading of new seas. Nae for me matey.

  • This is really not a good idea. How about you just spent 45 minutes clearing a Skull fort and some random comes by sinks your ship. You have no way to get your loot back. I do think there needs to be penalties like spawning farther away or reduced resources on spawn, but not another server.

  • @nightmare247365 Thats a good point ofc, But as it is now its not worth it in time or patience. but fun if your just in it for the fun of doing the raids, very intense.
But need some change so u actually can get away with the treasures when u get the key.

Would be a big help if you could open any fortress and get treasure from them also.

  • Respawn as far away as possible. A sunken ship should mean something. Punishment for losing. Reward for winning. Not an endless death match where you are rewarded for sinking by just coming back 2 minutes later with a fully stocked vessel or penalised for winning by having depleted consumables and having to fight the same buffed ships over and over again.
