I would love to see a simple emblem creator for our flags.
The game is great with the lore and feel of piracy, however, as there are no upgrades or character progression, we would love to see custom flags. Flags were the sole identifiable symbol that struck fear in the hearts of sailors. They said exactly who was attacking them.
As all of the items are cosmetic we should have the essential cosmetic for pirates.
I’m not sure who’s idea it was to not implement this from launch, but it the one major thing that you dropped the ball on. If you are going to have a pirate game then we NEED custom pirate flags.

@misa-kitten then give us a sort of symbol generator to mix and match with colors to switch between to create something unique.
Hoisting the colors should definatley be a thing. I dont like having a white flag on my sloop. Im not French! ;)
We don't need inappropriate custom flags or sails on every ship in the server.
A ship is coming at you and see a n**i flag, tiny man package, poorly designed melons, girl booty, a.k.a. sexual content etc. 😄Rare and Microsoft need to focus on bringing more content to the game.
Not banning players that created custom flags or sails.

Take a look at how Guild Wars 2 implemented customization for creating guild emblems. It needs to be the same thing with different artwork. Emblem Demo
This way they control what's added to the game, and we control how it looks.

No im fully aware kitty. I was thinking more like Destiny Clan Banner Creation. They give you specific symbols like a Phoenix or lion then you color the foreground, background and symbol... but more pirate. So skulls, kracken, sabers, pistols, snakes, serpents etc.
They could make like a selecter scroller, it be like "what colour you like your flag to be then select what part of the flag you like place from left, right, up, down and middle then add the emblem you like in the selected scroller menu but you can not move the emblem but can change its size and spin it around and change colours", emblems them self be inspired from the pirate flags from the 17th century like Blackbeard's flags or Jack Rackham's but you mix them up to make them your own in "sea of thieves" well thats what I think it be like
