remember the days of split screen?! i feel likes SoT would be a great couch co op as well.
people could log into thier own accounts like in other games and then be able to keep the rewards they get.
im guessing the water physics is to much for split screen on one machine, but I would happily take down graded graphics to sail with a buddy, wife or my kids right next to me!

If you know anything about current hardware and user account verification requirements you know why this 4-player split screen era ended almost a decade ago. Also it's worth saying that it actually goes against most business models that try to sell more digital copies of games. Go perform a simple Google search on why this is mostly a concept of a bygone era with Nintendo being the exception because it's mostly a market heavily geared towards teens and children who can't purchase individual copies of their own. Games with more mature demographics don't typically need split screen because adults are more inclined to play on 4 different consoles in the same room with 4 different screens than play on the same console on one monitor/TV, not to mention the incredible difficulty of performance issues with split screen in the HD era, and likely loss of graphical fidelity as a bi-product.
Its probably the worst solution to the problem but; If you have any half decent pc's or laptops in your house you might be able to find a way to play the game on them using the same game purchase. I know my GF and I share the game between her Xbox and my pc, not exactly sure what the sharing limit is but I'm pretty sure the goal is to allow families to be able to use cross buy games together.
