Ship has consistent level of water that won't go away

  • I posted this at the bottom of a similar post but thought it possibly didn't get a lot of exposure.

So I have no chests or items in my ship. I did sustain heavy damage with lots of patches. I drain all the water, my ship still fills up. I have a consistent layer of water that doesn't get worse but always comes back if I drain it. I sailed around for awhile like this without it getting worse. Is this because of all the damage?

  • @smc64 Is it during a storm? When it's raining you can't get rid of all the water. Otherwise, you should be able to repair all holes and bucket out all water.

  • @smc64
I have had this happen to me as well. It’s been a random bug since alpha. Not in a storm either.

  • @smc64 How much water are we talking of?
If it's just a bit more than wet floor, you are probably just close to the storm.
The rain effect hits your ship a little bit further then the rain is visible around the storm.

  • @smc64 If it's a sloop you might have some hard to spot holes in the captains cabin. Those will trickle water into your ship as your sailing along, making for a very slow fill.

  • I think it's a visual bug, it sometimes happens when I'm on the sloop as well but I can't remove the water.

  • Yeah, no rain. I know that happens. I should have mentioned. Clear skies. I dump the water, it comes back instantly but never gets worse. That makes sense if it is a bug. It has happened to me twice.

  • @businessjjj Thanks

  • Definitely not a hole. It stayed at the same level for a good 30 minutes and it instantly goes to the same level when I use the bucket. Probably 2 buckets of water. I had also heard about being close to a storm without being in it. I couldn't even see a storm on the horizon anywhere so I didn't think that was it.
