Me an my crew run 1 to 2 skull first a night depending on when it spawns. We were on a particularly active server this particular night. We were running order of souls missions till one showed up and were in the middle of a mission when one popped up at Shark Fin Camp right next to us. It was exciting to see it that close. We finished the mission then started sailing with our 250ish cannonball 100 planks and 100 bananas. Needless to say we were stocked locked and ready to rock.
We get there and start into 2 waves when a galleon came along. We battled it out with them for about 10 minutes when a sloop came along and actually started helping us (thanks). Another galleon came along to join the fight and the sloop started to attack us as well. We sank the sloop then the initial galleon. We then turned our attention to this new threat and sank them as well. After sinking them the first galleon was seen on the horizon again so we did 2 more waves and sunk them again. As we sunk them the other galleon showed again and we sunk them. We go about doing the fort and are getting close to being done when the initial galleon comes back for another trip to the locker.
We finished the fort and by this time we only have 30 cannonballs remaining. We see the second galleon coming back so we grab the key and make a run for it to resupply on the go. They park next to the fort and don't pursue us but the initial galleon sees us running and gives chase. We led them around the map for about 20 minutes before we decided to send someone off on an island with the key. They saw it and we started to jump off. We jumped off and our 2 crews are fighting it out on Devils Ridge. Our guy with the key manages to slip off in the chaos and hide it on the other side of the island. After a while they finally kill us and our boat hit a rock when we jumped off so we lost our spawn point.
We returned with a new ship sunk there's then went to the island to kill them and retrieve the key. After retrieving the key we went back to the fort thinking the other galleon may have given up. NOPE! Some people just don't learn after sinking 3 times.
We get to the island and set up a position and duke it out for another 20 minutes with them. We eventually sink them and start lootin and tootin. We barely get all the treasure by the time we see their sails crossing behind a rock and set out to do some hot drops at outposts as we sail by. During the encounter we invited one of their guys into the chat for some "friendly" banter while they were pursuing us. We successfully dropped off all the loot and kept them following us for 20 minutes afterwards before we told them we had already cashed out. They then proceeded to leave the server for brighter seas.
This was probably one of the most frantic, chaotic, and awesome times that I have encountered during the game. It was a lot of fun and challenging and bantering with the enemy was spectacular. This concludes the tale of the massacre at Shark Fin Camp.
