So me and my crew had an especially violent day of sailing the seas after sinking about 8 enemy ships threatening to take our hard earned treasure. When at the end of the battles we had nothing to show for it except a really messed up lookin up hull that would reset next session. I personally would like to have something to show for the ships you sink while on the sea of thieves. So anyway a few days pass and we sink a few more ships in a session when my friend suggests that whenever you sink a ship just as whatever treasure they have floats to the top a ship in a bottle floats to the top as well, and you could collect these ships in a bottle for every time you sink a ship. There could be like a display case in the captains quarters where these would go. But the main thing is they would need to carry over from session to session as long as you had your whole crew that you originally sunk those ships with just a thought but I think it would be really cool to be able to display the many ships you and your crew have sunk together.
An idea to showcase how many ships you have sunk
@predator2035 maybe you could have the abilty to keep it in a case in the captains quarters. Or you could choose to sell it. The bottle on every ship would then look exactly like the ship it comes from
I've been thinking about something similiar too.
My idea would have been to reward players with sails or special cosmetics, maybe a flag if they eventually get added.
That way people who like PVP can show off their accomplishments, while others may be warned from afar.
The idea of infamous pirates would be a common one, and could be achievable for players that way.@predator2035 The only reason I wouldn't really like this is that people will server hop to search newbies to sink them over and over. Which could really, and I mean REALLY hurt this game...
There is already too much Kill on Sight in the game. I would prefer to not encourage more of that. So I'd prefer them not to give out these statistics.

How about do it like the Accolade patches you get for achieving X within a faction. Go to a Ship Vanity Chest and equip them. Maybe its a Skull over the captains quarters. Or some Bone railings. Maybe red lantern lights. Tattered Sails.
If a member of your crew has sank 50 boats they have access to a new Ship Vanity item. 100 boats sank, new vanity items. Not color skins, but actual differences. Like the peg leg, or the Hook but for the boat.
This is a pirate game, and a pirate I intend to be. If I see another ship, I'm going to board it and steal whatever loot is there. If there is no loot, I'm going to sink it either way. That said, I am fairly receptive to game chat from other players and an accord may be reached through communication.
As for the sinking ships statistics. I believe having a log book in the sub-menu system where the instruments are located would suffice to show ships sunk, players defeated, bananas cronched, cannons fired etc.
Then, as an added bonus, I could show my stats to other players using the same mechanic as showing a map.
