Ship sinking and their distance from the sinking location...

  • So yesterday, me and my crew were at a fort and sunk a Galleon. Shortly after, they were able to sink us without their ship because we had too many holes and they were able to kill us.
We defeated them before they defeated us. But we were maybe a minute apart.
They still had 1 guy at the fort who defeated the captain in the meantime.

What happened next was the we spawned EXTREMELY far away. And we were against the wind. Before we got back at the fort, the other Galleon(And they didn't scuttle, they sunk.) had already been back at the fort, loaded up all the loot, and started sailing for an outpost. Before we could reach the outpost, they already turned everything in.

My point is, IMO, this is SUPER unfair. We sunk them first, yet we didn't even have a chance to get to to fort to battle them again? Also, if we had died before them, chances are that we ended up in their spawn location. So if you lose the fight, you are actually closer than the ones that were able to hold on longer?
I am not sure how to fix this. Maybe if there is a fight going on, the Galleon that sinks first in a certain fighting area spawns further away that a Galleon that sinks in that same area later?

Also wonder if other people agree that this is unfair, or just think this is a part of the game? Maybe someone has a better way to solve this?

  • @yacantdutchthis have you tried not sinking when you "win" a fight?

  • @a-sp4c3m4n Have you ever tried not speaking when you have nothing to add to the discussion?

This is not me being salty about not winning the fort.
It's about this being unfair. Next time at a fort, I'll just sink myself first so I get closer to the spawn when we know the enemy ship is sinking too! I mean, we may have PLENTY of time to just go to the fort, load everything up, have a grog, sing a song, go to the outpost and OH look the ship that sunk after us is on the horizon. How cute!

  • but hes right,if u also sunk it was your fault,i dont get it why should that be unfair,i think its better than close spawnpoints ,cause that will be annoying when u not sunk, i got u its frustrating but its the game,i also lose at forts in the last minute

  • @weedstar-deluxe He may be right, but then he shouldn't try to come over as a fool, and stop assuming things. People do it way often.

I hated the close spawn points. And I am not complaining about how far we spawned.
I am complaining about the fact that if 2 ships sink at the same spot, they both spawn on a different spot.
One ship being SO far away, that the other one can go back to the point where they were, load up all the stuff, turn around to an outpost, load up everything before the other ship can even reach them.

If both ships sink at the same point, at least the one that sunk last should not spawn further away or against the wind.

And like I said, I don't care at all that we lost. I only care about how it went.
I;m playing Sea of Thieves, not Spawn Luck Simulator.

  • @yacantdutchthis I think your not grasping the fact if you just saved your ship you wouldn't have to worry about the pros and cons of who sinks first, and if they sunk you guys without a ship they deserve the loot more anyway! lol

  • @a-sp4c3m4n
I think you don't grasp the fact that this can legitimately be abused? And that it makes no sense that if you sink you just have to pray to the gods of RNGsus that you don't spawn further away than the other ship that has also sunk?

Also, we had one guy on our ship bailing, other than that everyone was on our side was dead and I think about 3 of them spawned back. 3v1 while the 1 needs to focus fully on bailing isn't really hard man. But hey, if you think they deserve loot for that! (I do agree, 3 pistols versus a bucket IS impressive! Buckets hit hard.)

  • @yacantdutchthis sry now i got u ,one spawn far away n one ship pretty close yes thats really unfair n should be fixed

  • @weedstar-deluxe Yeah they either spawned really close, or they had full wind while we spawned against the wind. Which is quite ridiculous IMO.

  • @yacantdutchthis sounds like its your fault for leaving one guy on your ship and not being defensive enough :) and your salty that even though you sunk after them you didn't get put closer with a better wind position when they were probably already sailing back before you even sunk you shouldn't expect to spawn closer is my point that wouldn't make sense either you'd be complaining either way...

  • @a-sp4c3m4n
Geez, STOP assuming things. You weren't there, you don't know how we handled the situation. I mean, it's freaking amazing that apparantly you never make mistakes, but we never left 1 guy on the ship. Ever heard of boarders?

They could have had max 1 minute head start.
They either spawned closer or in the wind.
I don't even care if we spawn evenly far away, I don't need to spawn closer than them.
But it was ridiculous that they can have a freaking 10 minute party before we even arrive on the horizon.
I don't want to play spawn simulator.
I want to play Sea of Thieves.

For now, I am done replying to you since you are only going for personal attacks. Which is quite pathetic. You don't consider my points, you only want to talk s**t to me.
I've said 10290183878 times that I am not salty. That I do not mind losing a fort. I have tons of wonderful stories where I lost hard. But it was fun.
This was luck. This was not fun. Luck=/=fun. And Sea of Thieves shouldn't be luck only.

This is my last post to you, you can reply, you can ignore it. But any further replies on this subject that add nothing to the discussion and are just you trying to tell other people that they need to git gud(But with more words.) will result in me ignoring them. I want peoples opinions, I want to know what people think is good and bad about the situation. I want this community to be a fun place to share opinions.
I don't want it filled with me trying to explain things to trolls.

  • Are you positive it was the same galleon? I was at a fort yesterday stalking 3 galleons. They took turns parking defending sinking then the next would do the same. I swooped in once and sunk the only one left but one of the other two had already made it back. Only one had ship skin and sails so the other two looked identical.

  • @yacantdutchthis look some people make there own luck by not sinking. I'm not personally attacking you I'm just trying to say that hole on the bottom of your ship isn't Rares job to fix, they have real problems they need to fix. Sorry if I hurt your feeling but this is sea of thieves and if you have lots of stories about losing forts this is just another one of them not a valid issue but if you think it is fill out a support ticket. I just don't see anything u could really exploit out of this though to give you an advantage...

  • @xxxrookxxx Yeah, 100% was the same Galleon. Because after they turned everything in, we decided to sink them. XD
Honestly, I was the most surprised that they were able to turn EVERYTHING in before we even got into cannon range.

We also checked the fort afterwards because we weren't sure if they were able to load everything. Since they must have been a lot closer if they were able to. And there was nothing left in the vault.

  • @yacantdutchthis if you didn’t see the loot it’s very possible they hid the key. From solo experience I have had to hide that bad boy in a bush on a random island on the way to the outpost due to pursuers. If it was crows nest specifically though, I would have checked the Skelton towers.

  • @xxxrookxxx We went back to the fort to see an empty vault. That means they used the key. And took all the loot.
When we sunk them, no loot floated to the surface. Which means they turned it all in.

  • @yacantdutchthis duh haha sorry ignore me.

  • @xxxrookxxx Heh, no problem. We all make mistakes sometimes. (Except for this certain guy who keeps saying I have to play differently. Obviously perfect person.)
