@mithrillant I think they say replayability... because some of the commendations will require more effort to unlock possibly?.

This appears to be different per player. I’m not sure what affects it, but my app loads really well while my crewmate’s app loads very slow. We have the same type of rig, his internet is faster than mine.

To show how much effort you put in they will be worth more.
Digging up treasure is going to be a lot more interesting now. On higher level voyages, quite often skeletons will spawn when you first dig with the shovel.
With the new Gunpowder Skeletons, I'll do one dig, then leg it back to my ship for fear of being blown up!!!
On the plus side Gunpowder Skeletons will make doing Order of Souls voyages easier in some ways, as they can take out their buddies :-)
Also I'm not going to park close to shore anymore, as a gunpowder skele in the water near my boat isn't going to be good :-(
Fuses sound cool, as we can now board an enemy boat, run downstairs, light the fuse on the way down, drop it and watch as the enemy pirates chase me, but then get blown up, whilst I'm at a safe distance :-)

This is so true. The crew I play with, we tend/prefer to keep anchor raised (like many others do). With all these booms going on it's going to be interesting to see how this'll inevitably affect this particular way we play.

I guess it's just some grindy commendation like "kill 100 gunpowder skeletons with your saber" or something like that.

You can earn 100 Commendations, and an extra 50 by completing the Legendary Commendations.

This is correct. The Legendary Commendations will take a longer period of time and require a little bit more effort to unlock than the other Commendations.

Rare does not care about their old IPs aside from their existence. Why do you think they aren't doing the work on Conker, Battletoads, Killer Instinct? The Rare Replay team was supposedly ten people out of a studio of 200. Shows how little interest there is and it should not come as a surprise. Most of the people at Rare today are not from the old days. It's not their games. They want to make their own name, which is fair.

It's okay, that's why I'm here to clarify. I'll make sure that in the future it's clearer.
The total you can get by completing all the Commendations is 150, that last 50 is the Legendary Commendations, and they're just a little bit more challenging!@quarbani Ahoy matey!
The doobles have gone, but the commendations and titles remain. So you do still have a reason to go out there and complete the older quests. But, if you need to earn more doobles you will have to do so via the active quest (Gunpowder Skeletons).
