If you think the pirates couldn't be "colourfull", I'm going to say only three words: Jack "Calico" Rakham.
Of course @Amancebacabras who I know Calico Jack, he was called so thanks to his colorful clothes, but we're not talking about not being able to wear red, orange, gold among others, we're talking about bringing to the SoT pink skins, Barbie themes!
And what about the 12 year girls that want a ship like that? or the 30 guys that NEED a ship like that? Why so much hate on pink? Its only a colour. I personally feel tired of only spot black ships at the horizon. Actually the pirates dont used too much that colour despite the flag, so its a bit pointless that all the players use black ships, but I suppose that disney does too much dmg with his Black Pearl...
As I've said many times, the game is pirate theme, not Barbie theme, if 12 year old girls want to play SoT, they can not expect a pirate game to have a pink ship and all the rest of the pink theme, for the adults who need a Babie theme, I'm just saying this! The game is not done in LGBT theme, the theme of the game is pirate, and pirates do not use pink and LGBT flags!
Now you're sinking into a whole different level of argument. It's fine discussing your irrational aversion to bright colors or whatnot, but leave LGBT out of it. I'm not sure why you seem to associate the hot pink "Barbie" theme with the LGBT community, but that's out of line. It's got nothing to do with LGBT anything.
As for the rainbow flag, it fits just fine within the pirate theme. Like I said, flags are meant to be bright and visible from a distance. The rainbow flag is beautiful. While it was originally introduced as a nod of appreciation and respect for Pride Month, the flag is generic enough not to be tied to a single specific meaning within the game. It was added by Rare to affirm their commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, but it can mean whatever you like. If you have your p*****s in a knot over that, that's your own problem. But the flag is here to stay. If you don't like it, don't fly it.
EDIT: Wait... I can't say "p*****s"? Good grief, it's an article of clothing almost every woman wears. It's not a dirty word, it's what they're called. Are we to censor anything woman-related because it sounds too feminine? Can we say jockstrap? How about jockey shorts? Underwear? Briefs? Knickers? Sheesh...
