Quitting the game with a full inventory.

  • When a player leaves the game, their inventory should return to the barrel/s those items came from.

  • This is why I got into the habit to empty my inventory if at least one of the crew is staying to rotate the players to a new crew before I am leaving the game for the night.

But in the case of general disconnects or quit outs as long as the inventory does not bug out to abuse it and only return all resources exactly from a player to the ship barrels I don't see an issue with having this implemented, that said it does not take that long to restock all they picked up should they not return and those resources are lost from them.

  • @th3xr34p3r @DeliciousPack Would be a nice addition if on a disconnect a "supplies" crate drops that holds their on-person resources.

I imagine to track this could be very server intensive - with the game having to check every X seconds what each player holds, just in case one disconnects/quits, to then spawn a crate (or restock barrels) with those exact items that it recorded they had before they disconnected / left

I'm all for QoL changes and additions though!

Yea its the server side impact that is the main thing to consider when it comes to implementing certain QOL improvements to the game.

I'm pretty sure the inventories are already managed server side, which is where you get weird synchronization bugs we originally had where, take 1 and it says your inventory is full, and you only had 1.

And... your not the engineer with knowledge of the code base here so its a waste of time bringing it up.
